Id personally be gambling on him being an upgrade to Garner, but I think we'd need a fantastic DM to go alongside him. Maaaaybe we snatch him up on deadline day if we manage to get a great DM lined up too.

Our defence was universally praised last season

Pickford - England number one for years and our player of the season many times
Tarkowski - made the Europe first XI and was a rock
Gana - our player of the season

These are defensive players who all got relegated in teams that conceded lots the season before we signed them

Our club is like the AA, (either one will do) for relegated players. This is surely the way forward hence our approach for Dibling. Come to Everton and make amends for your previous failings.

Yep. The sooner we get a modern manager in who knows how they play and the resources they need as opposed to the dinosaurs we keep appointing who think they can play 4 centre halves at the back and hope they hoof it up and the other team makes a mistake the better.

I often wonder if those who champion the signing of very average ageing, ( in football terms) , players in preference to younger developing players are also the people who 2years later are fulminating about the club being hamstrung by these same players ‘leaching’ a wage while having little sell on value.

1. We don’t play said young players when we buy them

2. We then sell or release said young players

3. The issue to hand still exists multiple years later

I don’t think people are against young players per se. They are just wanting the issue solved now

No. Not even close. Just said cucurella was a 23yr old who played a couple of full seasons for getafe in la liga. Anzou has played 15 games for valladolid in the spanish 2nd division. He's an inexperienced kid.

Valladolid were in the 1st division mate.
