Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

He’s spent an incredible amount of money mate. They’ve really backed and committed to him.

They’ve been very easy to read in my opinion up to this point mate, I watched them today, with Zubi, Mandueke, Eze I think they are trying to be less telegraphed and introduce a bit of X.

They also now have serious depth.

Not convinced on Gyokeres even though he got a couple today.

He really needs a trophy I think this year.

He's scored a lot of goals over in Portugal for sure but better defences will shut him out more effectively . Will still likely be mid double figures come season end, but won't be firing them to the title. Eze will be great to watch but think they will keep on getting bad luck key injuries. They don't quite allow their belly to be tickled amd roll over like Spurs seem ro do at Anfield but any kind of heavy loss there will knock their confidence again.

TFG have no frame of reference with the PL, so Moyes is driving their vehicle, got them clear and with plenty of time and they've noted his success.

Thing is, clubs can be player laboratories, like Brighton and Bournemouth where they sell every couple of years and use that profit to sustain, but we're now 'twilight' we've got the bigger stadium and the sponsorship of the toilet cubicles and the taps and the traffic lights. We're after being more than a hop scotch step.

But TFG have no experience in the PL.

With greater turnover (money) there is greater expectation, no losing the Arteta money down the back of the sofa anymore for us, we're being charged more, we got what we wanted, we demand better and we pay, and them in charge are expected to fulfill their end of the bargain.

Expectation and delivery. Not often those two bedfellows lie easy.

I think that’s the choice mate.

We need to decide if we continue to sell our best young o,Ayers every couple of years and sustain with Brentford, Bournemouth and Palace or we try and rub shoulders and compete with Spurs and Villa.

Saka looked to have picked up a bad injury today mate, that ruined their season last year. I’m really rooting for them and City, I don’t want Norway to do it again - nauseating.

Tbh I think villa are looking like they are gonna really struggle this season

They look they might be coming to the end of their cycle mate, players getting older, struggling with high wages and seem hamstrung trying to change things with budgets and limits. They seem to be trying to get a few Chelsea players - wouldn’t be surprised if Rodgers end up there. Emery is there a while to and believe he can be quite demanding. They have Europe to come to.

Watched the, today, the fell apart when Kamara went off - good player that lad but very injury prone, he’s clutch for them.

Be a good move for him.

Their record transfer is £12 mill so doubt it.

Loan….
If that'd mean getting another signing over the line it's gotta be done.
And doesn't need to be a 9 coming in. Think Barry, Beto and Ndiaye would be sufficient cover so elsewhere can be strengthened.
Would rather the core be strengthened for better all round service of what are now Ndaiye, DHall, Dibling, Grealish, (McNeill and Garner)
Would set up nice next season for an aspiring to take the 9 shirt; with more money to target.

I like Gyokores. Just seems to have a desire to succeed like Cristiano Ronaldo. I think he'll get alot of goals and Arsenal are my favourites for the title

Aznou is an attacking minded fullback.

He's known to be that but someone posted his defensive stats for Valladolid.

He was in the top 99th percentile for tackling and other defensive actions.

We have a manager who just isn't ever going to play someone like that though

I think we may be surprised with Aznou.

I see loose links to Hector Fort. Thats an inspiring target if Moyes thinks he can develop him.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing mate.
There have been literally hundreds of posts on here slagging off unambitious targets as being Moyes choices. The fella seemingly can't do right for doing wrong.
What is wrong in trying to sell the club to better players to see how it goes ?
We have tried , may not have suceeded , but we had to try.
If you would have been told 2 weeks ago that we would have got Grealish , KDH and Dibling , you would have snapped their hand off.
Your views on Moyes are surprisingly negative , and surprise me.

Grealish - Loan, can live at home, no other public interest in him.

KDH - Unwanted at Chelsea. No other public interest in him.

Dibling - Signed from relegated club. No other public interest in him.

It's not like we've been in transfer battles with players. I'm personally disappointed we signed KDH for the fee + I think we should have been aiming for a different type of player.

Not super negative though as i posted about wanting him 2 years ago.

Hasn't Aznou also got full international caps ?

Yes.

Hard to say tbh, I'm really not convinced by TFG, think they should have shown their faces by now, I don't think going back to Moyes was the answer either, the way he likes too work is just not befitting to modern day clubs hence the rumours of disagreements with others over various matters. Guess we need to see how it plays out.

I think Moyes will get us 8-10th for the next 2 seasons while hopefully developing players.

Its arguably what we need at the moment.

Need to be careful of PSR as when a new manager comes in to replace him he'll want his own players.

But a new manager needs a base to build from and i think there were internal issues under Moshiri which hopefully are being improved.
