Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Oh I know that, George Graham and his 1-0 wins

Bruce Ricoh somehow butchered Bergkamp, perfect example of how bad management can hamper talent, he was about to be bombed out before Wenger arrived.

If you believe in a philosophy/project you have to commit totally - I’m not sure it’s possible these days, the role of a manager now is so diluted rightly or wrongly. They don’t really get to build clubs these days.

It’s takes a lot of bravery by a club and manager, to change the DNA identity of the club that way.

Fair enough, that's not my idea of a good watch but neither was Martinez so I agree there, I mean I will give you Arteta he was class and probably my favourite player of that time but the likes of Cahill and Pienaar and a few others were nowhere close to being as good as our fans made out at the time. I'm well aware of what its like on this website in regards too Moyes, he could burn the new stadium down and people would make excuses for him, that's just how it is and my view is the minority.
interesting that out of the 5 named you only pick out arteta. Out of the past 25 years have you rated anyone else?

Have to disagree with pretty much everything you say there bar the metric tonne part.

Didn’t help himself either with his comments in/post the notts forest game last season.

Nothing against him per se, or you for that matter, just objectively he does all that stuff.

Not to knock his views in transfer related stuff, he’s entitled to them and makes for some interesting reading
fair dos, i just find it weird when people jump on certain posters.

Think depends what everton team you have been lucky or unlucky to have seen, think will be a time here when moyes will be asked to show more from the fanbase. Even this season i kno for me i have expectations from him, then especially next season will be even higher:

Oh I agree but we are supposed to be under a new era where its all change (even got a plush new stadium to go with it) and we still have the same issues with recruitment and not filling key spots and bringing in players who don't appear ready to go and we have gone back to an old manager from years ago. Nothing ever changes with us, I guess we just need to see how it plays out but I'm not getting too excited atm.
As Belinda Carlisle said, ‘we dream the same dream, we want the same thing’!

I’d settle for stability this year but I agree with you.

Personally I’d love to watch the kind of football we used to play with Pienaar, Baines, Ossie, Arteta, Yak but that’s just me. I didn’t enjoy watching Martinez team but others did.
Everyone has a view but I’m in the Moyes camp.
His record of getting EFC/WHU regularly into Europe and his manager of the month awards show that he’s been a success, esp in a world where 2-4 teams have always dominated at any given time
This !. Hits the nail on the head for me mate

Has he had a game at CB as good as his best games at RB? Very small sample, but it’s not like he is inexperienced there given what he was doing before we bought him. Has looked a fair way off Tarks and JB as a PL CB. And to be clear, I think he has been a fantastic acquisition. But I’m not in a massive rush to move him to CB.
We have one of the best center back partnerships in the prem, it’s unlucky that he has to play behind them. Harsh though to say he’s been ‘a fair way off’ when you yourself say the sample size is small, he did absolutely fine there rhe back end of last season. His entire career is at centre back.

It’s not a case of rushing him to CB, it’s a rush to sign a first team quality player in our now biggest position of need (assuming Dibling is done) and reduce the number of guys who are ‘doing a job’ out of position. Right back was right at the top of the list of priorities as soon as the window opened. We wonder why there’s no patterns of play though the midfield or wings…half the players in there are out of position.

Neither of our full backs that started against Leeds were natural full backs. That’s absolutely horrendous.

We got turned down by Tate and then radio silence for months, so so poor

@Nymzee caught a fair bit of the Genoa game today as was bored - that Frendrup is an absolutely fantastic player. Would walk straight into our team as the best central mid.

Roma apparently spoke to Genoa about him last week - when inter were after Kone, that would be a good use of the multi club model - get the heads up on the situation and player wants etc.
I have mentioned Fredrup on here before. He is a really good player who seems to win every challenge
