Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I can’t see him lasting too long under this ownership if he doesn’t play ball with the new structure tbh. They must believe this model’s the way forward so in time will want a manager/head coach who’s more cooperative with it.
It might not be the structure that's the problem. It might well be the personnel appointed by TFG

Or it could be both and then we've got no chance

All hinges on Dibling for me.

If we get him then I think it starts to shape up to be a good window in the long term.

The team would start to look fairly good with Ndiaye Grealish KDH Dibling behind the striker.

There’s still gaps especially at right back and holding midfield but hopefully we can get a couple of loans to sort them out.

if we don’t get Dibling or any right winger then it’s an absolute disaster.

I think the general rule is we believe any accounts that might post something negative and any that suggest we've made a terrible mistake and made ourselves look incompetent again. Then we say nothing when it's shown to be baseless rumours and we wait patiently for the next rumour from a similar account to rage at.

Don't get me wrong, we make ourselves look quite incompetent fairly often, but it does seem very little goes into checking the accounts that loads of this stuff comes from and the first instinct is to lose our minds. I like the chaos that it brings so I'm all for it though.
Yeah I haven’t seen the original source material but if it’s come from Douglas it’s probably reasonably reliable or at least he’s been briefed. But it could all be horse manure for all I know.

I did say about 6 weeks ago that we need somebody better than Barry to be starting games for us.
Think he looked better vs roma with no service but agree, needs time. Get him ready could easily finish the season the starting cf has the talent.
The thing with Kinnear is he was heavily involved with Leeds recruitment that seen them relegated.

And to top it off he tried to sue us when they went down ha.

Mate you know me am an optimistic guy but he just feels all wrong for us.

I hope to god am wrong.
Think it was the other guy aswell orta just a mess this summer but feel going forward would be easier as wont be such a change.

im not going to tell you to ignore your intuition but for me I think it's still time to bring about some semblance of a decent window despite our stumbles.
It was only a first impression, but I really didn't like that interview Kinnear gave in America.

Basically felt like we were being told what to think. And I really didn't appreciate the everything is on track comment when it was extremely clear the manager strongly disagreed.

Jamie Horatio Arbuthnot Vardy

To what purpose? He’s not going to start games, and if he’s a bench option to come on then surely those minutes would be better spent on Barry or Chermiti.

I think it’s all just paper talk. Moyes seems to have been impressed with what he’s seen from Barry judging by his pre season comments. I’ll wager he’s first choice over Beto by the end of the season.

Don't think he looks all that much rawer than Beto to be honest. Having said that, maybe not the wisest choice to go for a slightly rawer version of our number 1 striker for our number 2 striker 🤷
That's not a good thing though.

Having said all that, of course he's raw. Still scored 11 in La Liga and physically can play in the PL. Giving him 5 minutes off the bench won't help him, and taking minutes away from Beto when he plays like he did won't hurt us.

I'm absolutely staggered that we haven't brought anyone in this week.

The closer to deadline day the more desperate and more prone to mistakes we become.

Everyone knows we need a minimum of 5 players to have a semblance of a decent squad , at least 3 of which need to be starters.

I just can't see it happening.

I suspect that we will sign 3 players on deadline day 2 of which will be loanees and yet another season of struggle will ensue.

My fear is even buying him doesn't solve our issues, relying on a 19 year old to fill a position we have struggled with for years we would still need back up

Tension between any team is normal. The mistake I think Moyes has made is making some of his frustration public during the preseason considering he plays an active and major role in player identification. Dibling for example might have been 3rd choice for Moyes while they were focused on trying to target his first and second which were persumably Kubo and Conceicao.

Yeah, you can't be part of the committee and then complain about the committee's work. If you want an example of a dysfunction in a team, that was the first example.
