ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They must have felt like they had to address the issue, so they went about it by getting two Liverpool fanzine editors who sing the song to debate whether it's ok or tragedy chanting...guess what they decided?

No wonder the BBC are hated. A horrendous right wing, strike breaking, genocide ignoring, paedophile-employing cess pit of an organisation.
Even if they excluded everyone else they could have asked Tony “Scotland Road” Evans to comment for a bit of balance as his article prompted the exposure.

Even if its not about Heysel it shouldn't be sung because its just to close to for comfort, can they not see that.

It's like Sheffield Wednesday fans singing they are crying in Liverpool, it's just not nice and would certainly cause distress.

For me it's absolutely not tragedy chanting, but even so it's just not appropriate.
It's because they've done their best to erase Heysel from their history that probably around 90% of them singing don't get the significance.

The figureheads from their fan groups should have nipped this song in the bud. Now on a BBC article they are basically justifying it and say they are not doing anything wrong.

Similar to in Paris where you had public transport data showing tens of thousands extra in the area, thousands of blag tickets, twitter posts of said tickets and people bragging about bunking in and red shirts sitting in the stairwells as all the seats were occupied. Somehow the behaviour of their fans was exemplary and they received an apology when some officials questioned it. They justify or deny any wrongdoing get backed up by BBC and Sky.

...or Hughes.

So for the BBC have now carried out their 'Fact check' and it appears that it's ok for the Kopites to carry on laughing at people crying in Turin and being told to eff off when everyone knows the context from 40 years ago.

Good to know and remember when they start battering people about 'tragedy chanting' by other clubs.

They know exactly what they’re doing. It’s even more insulting that they try and pretend it’s about something else. It’s actually very sickening that they sing it daring anyone to have a go at them about it. Rampant unchecked narcissism.

Had an unbelievable brief discussion with someone at work today, she brought the song up & I said it was shameful etc in view of Heysel, she just totally ignored what I was saying as if she had never heard of anything about Heysel (she's 62). She then switched the discussion to Palace fans at Wembley regarding Jota & the racist fan at Anfield.
I could not believe that she just didn't get what an insult & hurtful disgrace that song is.
Honestly, I can't stand the sight of any of them.

I get it that the BBC dont want Kamikaze Kopites launching themselves into their studios, but these people are 'supposed' to be a serious organisation that looks at such issues seriously.

They've just shat it over the most obvious case of snidery concerning a stadium disaster by supporters at the heart of that disaster.

It's beyond sickening.

On holiday in Spain. There's a kopite bar round the corner from the hotel we're in in Salou with a little toy shop next door. Little fella found a toy loud hailer in the shop and went and stood by the door of the bar and shouted 'kopites are gobshites, every fu**ing one of them' into the bar through the loudhailer.
He's just turned 7.
Completely unprompted.
I was so proud 😂

His mar was feeeewmin 🤣

In my youth I used to go in sports shops and either turn LFC shirts around or cover the first one with another club shirt(even then you couldn’t find an Everton top🙄)however my finest hour years ago was returning from an away game, stopped at a service station, think they had three teams of gingerbread men in three coloured kits,RS,Man Ure,and The Arse, well I snapped the head of every RS,Christ I used to be a right rapscallion eh?😉😂👍

He will be fully educated in the ways of Everton.
Taken to abject misery training like a duck to water.
You're a good dar, mate!

Sounds better than my 'education'...
When I was about the same age as your lad, I used to have giant posters of He-Man, Thunder Cats, and the Ninja Turtles all over my wall.
And what my old man used to do, was sneak into my room in the middle of the night, and strategically place posters of Everton players in-between them.

Didn't even notice that Southall, Linekar, et al., were poking their heads out between the big ones.

Then one day, I woke up, realised that I was an Everton supporter, and had no clue has to how it happened! 🙄
