Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Well, at least then, with Moshiri AWOL and Bill departed, it was clear who was running the show.

The owners should be giving the recruitment team power to overrule Moyes, if it’s true that he is insisting on Premier League experience and holding up transfers. Personally I don’t see why he would be putting such stupid limitations on himself and making his job harder, but it needs to be made clear to everyone what the hierarchy at the football club is. And the Leeds losers need to have the minerals to stand up to him and have convictions in their own decision making. A CEO and head of recruitment being bullied around by a manager is the sign of complete dysfunction and not how a football club in 2025 is supposed to operate.

Woke up this morning again thinking this will be the day, they can’t let it go on like this. We’ll be linked to 4/5 players and it’ll all be moving along. Nope, Palace signing wingers and in for more wingers. Forest signing even more players including a right back. Everton still doing absolutely nothing. With targets who we we linked with looking like they are going elsewhere now we could be in a lot of trouble here. One of the most disjointed and thin squads in the league showing no signs of improving.

If Moyes is overreaching, he needs to be put in his place or removed. If Kinnear and co are incapable of taking control and leading, they need to go.

I don't know what's going on, but the Friedkins are ultimately responsible for this dysfunctional mess.

Listening to the podcast from Bobble.

Transfer Committee can not agree the way forward on targets and how to spend the money we have left. Also can not agree if they want youth or experience.

They both seem pretty positive normally but worry setting in.

The words "can not agree" keeps getting said
Yep. Just listened to that myself. Grim listening.

I still maintain that, as good a manager as Moyes might be for us, he should not have been given control to build the recruitment model the way he wants it. And Moyes pushing for this PL experience nonesense needs knocking on the head. That's why the prices are so bloody high.

Also interesting how Bobble noted that the prices we are being quoted are only going up the closer we get to the window.

There shouldn't be any arguments. Moyes should be asked if he wants a player, and if he does, then the others should go get them

Why would we want other members of the recruitment team - Hammond , Kinnear etc to choose players over someone who has a track record of good recruitment at this club over many years.

Until the last day clubs will keep their valuations high. That's what happens when you don't get people in early and the manager constantly states how desperate we are for players. Prices will inevitably tumble in the final day as clubs will need to sell to balance the books but it's brinkmanship and those players may get better offers elsewhere, leaving us in the lurch. It's been a shambles all season.

Giving a bog standard lower level Premier league at best midfielder 90k a week on most probably a 3 year contract who's 30 this year

Wherever he goes he won’t be on £90k a week just like DCL didn’t get the fabled £150k a week that he was apparently holding out for.

But yes, I do want a midfielder on a free who’s an instant upgrade on all of ours.
