Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think Moyes can recruit well, too. I'm not a fan of his, but he's competent. That's not in question. Right now, I am questioning our "competent professionals" who supposedly run the club. It just strikes me as bizarre to keep hold of Moyes after his excellent rescue act if you do not know and align with how he operates.

Another example of the Friedkins not really being prepared for Everton football reality.

I thought they would have had a plan to appoint a manager who would be aligned with how they prefer to work. Yet, they kept Moyes on...

They really haven't impressed and, no doubt, Moyes will be their fall guy when the time comes...
One thing I've no with the Friedkins is that they've made mistakes at Roma but they usually acknowledge them and are willing to address those flaws instead of being oblivious or obstinate so hopefully they're willing to take steps from averting a similar predicament from transpiring again once we get we need in this window

Listening to the podcast from Bobble.

Transfer Committee can not agree the way forward on targets and how to spend the money we have left. Also can not agree if they want youth or experience.

They both seem pretty positive normally but worry setting in.

The words "can not agree" keeps getting said
How would he know ?

Looks like the club have shut down any information streams.

How many teams need at least four more players in by the end of the window to have a decent looking squad?

We need at least a right winger, a right back and two centre mids.

Can’t see many teams in the league needing to do so much as us.
We don’t need two CMs if we play everyone in their correct positions, and I’m not even talking about Garner

I suspect you're right and they will attempt to rectify matters - but at the cost of a lost summer and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reset spectacularly. Basically, they've lost serious momentum.

I agree with this, for sure. Retaining Young, even for the two years that he wanted [or 1 with an option] and transitioning Coleman into the backroom team would have been a sensible play. From a salary perspective, surely neither are looking for mega money at this stage and I doubt Young is on a kings ransom at Ipswich.
Might have been given a guarantee at Ipswich that he'll play more often than not.

Chaos and dysfunction behind the scenes. We arguably appear more of a shambles than we did in the last days of Moshiri with Thelwell running recruitment.
If all that is true, TFG are just not the answer. I genuinely don't see us doing enough good business to patch the holes in this awful team.

Moyes likes to operate his way and doesn't seem to prefer a collaborative process going from history

they need to tell moyes to pipe down with the experience shouts, he wont be here long so doesn't need to worry they wont have any sell on value

That's an appalling set of circumstances and an indictment on all of them. We've gone from "no money" to "can't agree". The sheer indulgence of it.

I don't think you can have Kinnear deciding who is signed either but he needs to bang heads together very quickly and get that sorted out.

I have to say that I assume Moyes is the issue here. That's my feeling.

Exactly what happens when you let a manager who'll be here for a couple years head up a transfer committee comprised of other people trying to plan for 5+ years.

Makes perfect sense.

Moyes, 2 year contract and wants senior premier league experience.

I'm positive KDH & Grealish were pushed massively by Moyes. Also the John McGinn enquiry was due to him as well.

At this point, Kinnear as CEO needs to tell him that the profile of players is going to be u23 and that they are going to be those with massive upside.

Not those with massive downside.

About Harrison :) ? A bit of a joke yes but clearly we need another RW if we dont want Moyes keep playing players out of position. So Harrison on DD is what we all fear. As for the targets i mention i think we can be lucky with 1 more big signing and hopefully a loan from a team of the level of Chelsea. For the rest i think with +/- 10 days to go the quality we will get might not be what we want.
More the Vardy shout I wasn't sure you were serious about

I think we need a combination of both.
