Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Something to offset the pain and highlight how absurd the window is - Chelsea are number 6 on the same list, spoiled brats

6. Chelsea

A club that has signed 49 senior players in three years at a cost of around £1.5billion is never far from buying someone, panic or no panic. If Enzo Maresca had his way, Chelsea would be steaming into the market for a centre-back following Levi Colwill’s long-term injury, but so far the club appear to be telling him to make do with the 12 senior defenders that remain available to him (No joke. That’s the real number). However, after mustering only three shots on target against Palace on Sunday, expect them to spend £70m on a new striker who’ll get a 12-year contract then be loaned to Strasbourg in January.

Increasingly thinking this Dibling thing is not worth this, also do we have funds for everything we need? Yes he has high potential but he is 19 ultimately he wouldn't start week in week out for me anyway, paying for potential when we need here and now. Also whilst we should invest in some potential, there is potential available cheaper in other leagues but we don't gamble on anyone without PL/top league experience. Honestly we should be looking at alternatives and a right back and DM, for the team we need to get practical now. Either do it or move away this haggling isn't doing us any good. 45m might be most of our budget left too when we are desperate for at least three players.

I a decision has been made to go late into the window in search of better value. Grealish was apparently months in the making and I'm sure we have targets / a list or whatever, and I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and see what shape we're in when the window shuts.

I do feel a bit gullible thinking this window would be different from previous seasons and I'm still mindful of the '...the stadium looks elite, so we need to get some elite players so we can give something for everybody to shout about when we move into it' line.

All summer we have heard that Moyes has very high expectations in relation to the level of player he wants this summer.

Because of this, fans expectations were high and we have failed to deliver. The reason seems to be a mix of potentially Moyes being delusional about who wants to come to a club without European football and our recruitment/negotiation team not being quick enough off the mark or just good enough in general.

As a result, the fans are now in the last days of the window advocating we sign Vardy, Brownhill and others that are so far away from what Moyes' initial aim was its untrue.

You consider Beto to be a waste?

I thought he did well last season in parts but is generally poor, as he was on Monday. If we’d paid 8mil for him then it wouldn’t be an issue but we didn’t and I don’t think he’s up to being our main striker.

My main issue is that we’ve paid best part for 60mil for 3 strikers and we can’t confidently say who is the first choice, or be happy that they’re good enough to be that.

You don't think we're buying anyone? come on Mike , we have the money it's one thing to say we're going to be sloppy and try to get players at the last minute but to say we're not going acquire anyone else I think that's implausible

Currently, as it stands today, I don’t think we’re in discussions for anyone, no.
