Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They seem to have a pretty extensive squad but they are in Europa this season so I don't if they have any peripheral players that would benefit us? I'd assume that there would be an option available
We will have to try and maybe send a loan the other way for a position player that we need.

We just dont have the money to compete in the open market.

Tried to tell y'all we should have kept Thelwell and Purdy. At least for this summer given we had 15 players out of contract.

The DOF model wasn't the problem.

The problem was Moshiri ignored any DOF.

Then the problem was we had a DOF who couldnt spend in any window until we made a set profit, an even some windows what we could spend had to be £0 upfront. To join point deduction, circus FC. We'd have had Minteh, Kudus etc otherwise.

TFG have tried to do too much, too soon. They've made changes for changes sake.

All that said, I figure they've intentionally sacrificed having players in because they see value at the arse end of the window. If we've jibbed Fellows and co, and we see the likes of Fofana come in - then fair enough.

Surely, we have a list of players pending, and if they dont come off they'll work down the list. Top players, the type who really improve us aren't going to be in a rush to join. If the teams they want to join don't take them, then perhaps we have a chance.

Twitchy arse, time.

I think you stick anyone with pace up against a reasonably slow midfielder at left back and they're gonna look decent, didn't see a lot from those 2 to suggest they won't get pocketed by semi competent defenders during the course of the season.

Dont get me wrong, in our current state I'd take any number of wingers with pace, but desperation sometimes makes average players look more attractive than they are.
Same with women

Because it absolutely stinks of desperation at a time of this supposedly being our new era. New stadium, new ownership, new players, money to spend, and we get Jamie Fu***** Vardy, its actually embarrassing.
Just sounds more like you’ve fell for the new stadium new Everton line the club have tried to push. Change is going to be very slow

It's been repeated time and time again that players prices drop massively towards end of window and loans become available...

Maybe we just have to accept that this is what we have to do?

I expect nothing until the last 2/3 days. And then it'll be odds and ends from the bargain basement.

I certainly wouldn't rule out the likes of Vardy.

The club is like an engine encased in rust and they've applied a couple of sprays of WD to it when we really need a new engine.

We're in a lot of trouble now. No more Goodison to get us the atmosphere to make a few points more that could be crucial.
Dave you wanted Jordan Henderson, sit this one out

Just seen on X (yes I know) Wolves and West Ham are bidding for Marc Casado, available for 25-35m Euro from Barcelona. I don't know anything about him other than he is a DM/CM who can also play right back,21 years old .Anyone know anything about him?

Should be absolutely all over it if the player is even slightly interested. Good defensive DM who can also pass a bit (according to people who know a lot more than me about talent ID)..

Apparently Barca want to sell but the player wants to stay (understandably). Depends how much they tell him he's not wanted I guess.

It's not even just price, it's opportunity.

As an example. Take Fellaini. We intentionally lashed a last minute club record bid in, knowing full well time was a factor. If we went earlier, he wouldn't have come to Everton.

The thelwell/purdy stuff is like when a player gets injured and magically gets better through being out.

The football world showed you how highly rated they are by them having to settle for Rangers. Who are themselves having a honking start to the season.

There's zero evidence to suggest they would be doing any better and quite a lot to suggest it'd be more of the same

Is it really true that good players become more affordable late on? I honestly think it's the opposite

It's only unwanted players who become more affordable or available for loan.

Thats a dangerous gambit to make we such massive gaps in our squad but I agree definitely seems like that's their strategy for this window , which I feel is reckless. If we maybe filled the right side out a little I'd be more open to that approach
