Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I don't want to terrify people either, but I don't think we will be signing 3-4 players either. I don't think the penny has dropped for the CEO/Hammond. We could easily end up dragging Dibling to late in the window and just doing that.

Strong reports/analysis we don’t have resources or headroom to do much after a Dibling mate.

What will happen will happen.

We can only control what we can, and if a higher power has mercy, we will all wake up tomorrow in good health and the Earth will continue to spin.

Blessed Day to All.
Can someone go round and check on Rooney_Tunes? I'm worried for the lad, acceptance and borderline apathy after only one game is very very concerning!

Not in May there wasn't. There was tournaments, players on holiday, new staff at Everton - it was defo a pathetic time to wet the bed.

Why are you going on about May as if anyone was moaning about recruitment in May? Those of us who were calling it out as recently as late July were getting met with the same responses of “bed wetter” “nobody else has done any business yet” “we’re waiting to secure our top targets”. You’re inventing a straw man with the May shout, nobody was moaning in May.

I have no idea who's providing those reports, but we would. Whether the cash is available I don't know.

They could also sell Goodison and or women's team to raise substantial wriggle room. No idea if that has happened though.

We have c. 12-13 days to recruit. That's not a lot of time given the key areas we need to address. We probably still need around 5/6 players, with three of those being first team starting quality (CM, RB and RW).

I wouldn't be surprised if we fail to do that and we need to have a big January window.
But then we'll be fed the 'there's no value in January, we'll wait until the summer' line and then, that summer, we'll get the 'it's a difficult market' line. Repeat ad nauseam.

Some were 100% moaning. The ones with a definite agenda with everything the club does or doesn't do just to throw shade at it.

Right winger with pace
Defensive midfield with physicality
Right back who can get up and down.
Priorities we have had months if not years to address.
Unless we get all three we will continue to struggle. Could do with another striker too.

No money to do anything after Dibling is it. Well luckily there’s a free agent CM available who’s much better than basically any that we currently have in the squad. Chop chop lads.

Yeah and could also sell a player in Jan or in June if we have to meet PSR requirements so that makes no sense. Only reason could be cashflow....

Indeed. TFG literally have the option of selling both the women's team and Goodison for 100 million pound each, and nobody would be able to say anything after the sale of Chelsea's fixed assets being authorised. Of course, being Everton, we will all convince ourselves that we have to live by non-existent restrictions.
