No Genuine shouts, just genuine fear that he comes back. There’s no genuine shouts for him though is there. Will be interesting to see who the people are that will try and justify the signing if it does happen though.
Everton inflation. Its a thingweren't we quoted 35/40m?
About the upper limit of his actual value. Surprised if Leicester don't still say no though.Sunderland bid 28m for Fatawu
To be fair mate they did very little, got handed a EL spot and immediately went a blurted a load of cash on a striker (that's their 5th first team striker according to Transfermarkt) and 2 more AM/forward players (taking them to 7 players to play behind 1/5 strikers).Another £30m signing announced by Forest today to make it £100m worth of transfers announced in less than 72 hours.
Meanwhile, at Everton.
Yeah and we were quoted 70m for Dibling but offered 27m.weren't we quoted 35/40m?
He'd be our top score without a shadow of a doubt. To be fair mate they did very little, got handed a EL spot and immediately went a blurted a load of cash on a striker (that's their 5th first team striker according to Transfermarkt) and 2 more AM/forward players (taking them to 7 players to play behind 1/5 strikers).
Proper Footy Manager stuff. I want us to pull our finger out on a RW, but it looks like we're willing to wait until the bitter end to get our man, frustrating though it may be.
On the bright side, @davek might well get his Chris Wood wish, now.
Liverpool would have rinsed us because we're their rivals. We would have been charged more - as they should do really. If we ever sold them a player, I would expect it to be for a lot more than we would get from anyone else.
No way we could have had a buy-back in with a player signed from our arch-rivals - that would have caused bedlam. Factor that in, and the fact it's us, the deal would have been Dibling levels of cost to us, I'm sure.
Come on Dave. Stop pulling yer punches. Tell us what you really thinkRW

Dont get all of them in the final fortnight then forget it.
And I'd blame the 'exceptional operators', CEO, owners, and Moyes equally.
This is just appalling as it stands.

The increased use of "buy-back" clauses is a bit of a concern. Both Doak and McAtee had less than 12 months left on their contracts, so I'm a bit surprised both Liverpool and City had the negotiation strength to ask for (and be granted) the buy-back. With 12 months less on their contracts, you would have thought they would have been happy with a half decent fee.
The concern is whether buy-backs become the norm when buying from the top 6. Personally, I absolutely hate them. To the extent the payer is a success, the selling club activates, and tries to generate further profit. Look at the circus with Jaden Philogene betwen Hull, Villa and Ipswich.
