Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

3 minutes of my life I'm not getting back... Absolutely nothing there we didn't already know, just an extended written piece based on his Twitter feed. (for others that don't want to waste their time)
Then you shouldn’t have bothered should you. What were you expecting? Him to exclusively reveal a record signing?

I disagree with you anyway. There’s enough there to read between the lines of what’s going on.

Seems we’re still pushing for Fofana as well as Dibling and we’re waiting on one of those two. If we end up landing one of them, then your have to say fair play to them for not jumping at someone else just to get them in for the start of the season and the wait would have been worth it.

Obviously if neither come off, they’ll come under fire but I personally still wouldn’t be blaming them for not getting someone else in further down the list that they’re not entirely happy with just to get a body in for the start of the season. If there’s enough encouragement that their pursuit of preferred targets will eventually bear fruit, then they’re right to hang on and wait it out IMO.

Much rather have a quality player in for 99.9% of the season, than an average squad filler for three or four games more.
If Fofana’s agent did say what he was quoted as saying last week, he’s not coming here. Along the lines of RS the dream, Newcastle the sensible move, but happy to stay where he is. He sadly did not say Everton is also an exciting option because of the stadium and Trevor Steven. For these agent comments alone, I irrationally hate him.

That Fofana pursuit is nothing short of embarrassing for them. He’s basically stated he wants European football.

I think if were able to get both Dibling & Fofana then we should do whatever we can within reason to make it happen.

I suspect after 12-24months unless were top 6 then Fofana will be seeking a big move. A good player to bring in for short term success and a big profit.

I’m sure he’d rather play in the premier league than the French league though so if the likes of Chelsea and liverpool don’t come in he could be tempted if we make the right offer.

To the outside world I think signing Grealish will make players like fofana see us as a more attractive proposition than before.

Don’t even care if he said it or if it’s agent spouting it, after his comments, I very much do not want Fofana and would struggle to get behind him like the other signings. Rat aura

Sorry - can't resist - if he's going to miss 3 games then we will have to play a heck of a lot of games this season to make it 99.9%

Agree in principal though - we need quality to succeed, quantity can come later.

Yeah and tbh - it’s not really the type of player I’d want here. All well and good using us as a stepping stone, got no issue with that in this modern world…but from those words we were barely a stain on his shoe.

Interesting update for those that want to read. For others who can’t stand him and think he’s a “fraud who knows nothing”, please ignore.

His particular job there was to underline to fans that "you're defo not getting a new RB".

Job done for 'Al's Monday Column'.

He gives you what the club want you to accept.
