Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

NOBODY has suggested we do that, that’s a scenario that’s been made up by the ostrich’s who think waiting until the end of the window means we get a better quality of player. It doesn’t and has historically never meant that for us or anyone else.
Last week you were suggesting we bring Josh Brownhill in, so thats patently false.

I mean regardless of how he performs I’m 100% certain we should not do that.
Neither do I personally. Reckon that option fee is there for some accounting gymnastics.

Don't know to what extent we're tied to that mind. Maybe there's some small print that would allow us to sign him for less

All conjecture

We shouldn’t really be spending any more than about £10m on a soon to be 31 year old at all, which I highly doubt they would ever agree to. He’s on loan for the season and then he’s going back.

WE aren't that short on Midfielders. Bringing in a David Luiz I understand because he is an improvement but Josh Brownhill is likely not an upgrade so dont waste money on it.
for those who say we haven't had a real DM in 10 years - ok so we survived without one for that long?

I would rather have had a right winger than Grealish, sorry but I’ll just say it if no one else wants to.

….but we’re bringing target players in for numerous positions. Grealish was wanted and Grealish was acquired, in respect of a RW it’s not a question of either/or. RW is still an obvious target, just because that transfer hasn’t been achieved doesn’t mean we shouldn’t sign other players.

Big job to do, plenty of positions to fill, plenty of players to bring in.

Defensive midfielders are like central strikers nowadays in that there aren't many specialists in those positions as midfielders tend to be hybrid now and strikers similar

Would say short in quality without gana i would worry massively about the midfield

He’s a definite upgrade on the backup options we have and personally I’d argue he’s not a downgrade on James Garner.

Come on Mike, this isn't the noughties.

Players can perform well into their 30s now and the market has moved on. Don't make me do it but I will happily find umpteen transfers of £10m plus for 30 year olds
