Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Echo and a few others saying that 3 more is the target - RB, RW and a number 6 to add depth/cover for Gana

What I would say is that, assuming KDH is the number 10, the one weakness I see (assuming we end up getting all the targets we want) is how we progress the ball through midfield.

If the idea is to have a midfield two of Garner and Gana, even after new additions have arrived, that will be the big area of concern imo.

Did we not offer wor' Ashley a new reduced term deal and still have feelers out for Jack Harrison this season?

Because sometimes plan A failing and moving on to plan B is not too terrible.

Bobble said we offered Young a deal but he responded on twitter basically saying no he hadn't. I didn't think Moyes would be back in fir Harrison, his stats just wouldn't justify it even as a back up to the back up.

reports in Italy again that us and Roma are interested in Florentino Luis and 25m euro or £21m would get the deal done. Also speculation that we have deeper pockets than Roma!

We probably do have deeper pockets, in terms of ability to spend under the respective FFP situations. The women’s team sale will have made a massive difference to our restrictions.

I'd imagine that Garner would make way for KDH at some point. Him in the 8, Grealish in the 10.

Footy insider says we've made a £37m bid for a Roma striker

Only according to a winter hat wearing grifter, Ashley Young vaulted him on twitter and then said he was disappointed not to be offered a new deal by Everton in his first Ipswich interview.

He’s fantastic, but I’m calling bull for a number of reasons. Not least the Roma fans would be up in arms with their (our) owners. No chance.

Values seem to be all over the place this summer. 55mil for Elanga, Southampton quoting 50mil for both Fernandes and Dibling. Yet Garnacho and Ramsay apparently available around the 40 mark.

Make it make sense.
I rate Ramsey but he has injury issues and would be pure profit for Villa as an academy player, £40 mil helps them with PSR and I don’t think anybody would go higher than that for other players they’d be willing to sell in this window.

Garnacho has stupid wages so United happier to take a lower fee to get him off the books. (£40mil still a lot of money mind).

I think Southampton are in decent shape financially and don’t need to sell.

Elanga fee is steep but he’s good, young and will suit how Newcastle play.
