Dele was/is broken mentally.

Grealish just didn't work well the a coach.

Irrespective of the reasons, Dele is/was a risk, his star was on the wane and we didn’t know why, So is Grealish currently. Could be the manager, hope it is TBH.

I could have also said Royston Drenthe or Shandy Andy, or to a lesser extent Gibson.

I hope he doesn’t turn out to be those 4 for us.

Thought Gibson was mostly OK for us when fit.
Royston put in a few good performances before his madness annoyed moyes too much.

Grealish has mostly just played on the left where we have Ndiaye, and KDH is in the middle. Does Grealish go back to a 10 role like he was for Villa? Then where does KDH play, and whos playing the right side? Seems right now we have about 5 players for the LW and AM roles but no obvious ones for RW yet.

KDH is an 8, next to Gana. Grealish central advanced, Ndiaye stays on the left. Alcaraz is the one most impacted by this.

Sounds like an ideal move for him.

A team he’s going to be a regular starter (you’d expect) the season before the World Cup and he doesn’t have to uproot his family for a year.

Think this is an underappreciated aspect of the deal. I suspect that was a huge draw for him. Seems a perfect fit all around. Hope he has the fire to compete for a world cup spot. With him, Branth, and Pickford, we'll be tough for Champions League players only Tuchel to completely ignore.

Options. For the first time in years we would have options.

Grealish just didn't work well the a coach.

He worked perfectly fine in his first season and was one of Guardiola's go to selections.

His problems at City started after an injury plagued season where others have come in and kept him out. I don't think the blame can be laid at Guardiola's door exclusively.
