Likely our starting line up against Leeds will be

Pickford (same)
O'Brien (improvement) - Tarkowski(same) - Branthwaite (improvement) - Mykolenko (same)
Gana(Same) - KDH (Improvement)
McNeil (Same) - Alcaraz (improvement) - N'Diaye (Improvement)
Beto (improvement)

Bench:
Travers (improvement)
Keane (same)
Barry (improvement)
Armstrong (same)
Aznou (improvement)
Keane (same)
Iroegbunam (same)
Coleman (same)
Tyrer(improvement)
Heath (improvement)
Where’s James Garner gone?

I’d take Enciso from brighton
For the right price sure. He's definitely able to come on and change games and score crazy goals.

He hasn't been able to nail down a starting spot though and I don't think he would at Everton. He probably needs consistent first team football at this point. Supposedly linked with a move to Italy at 20 odd million.

Probably a bit of a luxury player for what Everton need.

Not satisfied, not reaching for the bleach either.

Right side is concerning + we could do with a defensive midfielder imo.

It's night and day from the broke Moshiri/Dyche season start either way.

Its easy to forget how dire the team really was at the start of last season, especially with Dyche not playing the new guys. Its much more competitive right now- A permanent winger and a few loans to round out the squad before the deadline and we will be fine.
The correct take ☝️

No James Garner?

Except that it is clearly better because Dewsbury Hall is probably the best midfielder we have signed since Gareth Barry.

That’s a big claim. I like him, but he will probably play instead of Alcaraz, and I think they offer different things, but are overall of similar quality.

Explain your workings out here please mate.

Still short of a couple players to pad the squad, indeed.. but our best 14-15 or so players are an improvement over last season for sure.
Pad the squad.

I will point out we currently do not have a right sided midfielder or natural right back at the entire club mate.

I'd say having to play a very mediocre left winger as a right midfielder when he has no right foot and never looked beyond crap there might require more than padding out the squad.

In terms of padding out the squad though, yeah cone afcon we will have one winger at the club in McNeil, two centre mods in garner and Tim and one proper fullback in Mykolenko

I mean, read the thread. Squad is way better than last season according to some.

The truth is the first eleven now is no better than the first eleven from April. That’s disappointing at this point, for me.
Our starting XI at Chelsea at the end of April:-

Even ignoring that fact that Tarkowski was unavailable which is why the back four was what it was here and Lindstrom & Mangala were already out long term - you can literally now add Dewsbury-Hall and/or Alcaraz to this side with Barry, Aznou & Armstrong available on the bench at worst.

Given then that all we really 'lost' in return was Young, Harrison, Doucoure & DCL - are you seriously telling me that we arent better off now?
