I doubt he'd be playing on the right. Sooner Ndiaye or Alcaraz I'd wager. The pre season games so far haven't been an indicator of anything set in stone as far as XI's go, as Moyes has himself admitted.
I think if no further additions then Mcneill will start on the right and Ndiaye will be on the left with KDH slotting in to 10 and Alcaraz on the bench as 'impact'....

Not ideal but still think we have enough to get a result against Leeds.

If they keep the player and don’t get promotion next season then he’s got a year left and goes for absolute peanuts. No idea why the management team at Southampton are getting any credit whatsoever. Firing Hassnhuttl, hiring Jones and Selles, backing Russel Martin ball to replace it with Juric who is the complete opposite far too late. Years of selling their best players to Liverpool on the cheap and overpaying for their cast offs.

Their management has driven them to two recent relegations and the way they’re shaping up I wouldn’t back them for promotion next season either. They’ve not got a clue what they’re doing and I’d back our recruitment team over theirs every single day of the week.
All of this, plus the fact that I can't see the lad being too happy at that kind of development at all. Sounds like he just wants out at this point..

Its brinkmanship time,

Southampton call our bluff on topped out value, we call theirs by walking away, then meet in the middle.

In many ways welcome Tyler.
I'm not sure that happens now, but the fact they didn't walk away and came back with their demands does leave the door open for us to find a middle ground and state that's our final offer.

Or allow the lad to put pressure on Southampton with a transfer request. Then come back in with a final offer.

Maybe it would be a good idea if Moyes didn't go into press conferences like a rabbit in the headlights telling everybody how desperate we are.
What I don't want to see is us making the same mistakes as the past overpaying for players and giving them ridiculous contracts.
The expectation for this season to get in the European places is too high it can't be done in one season with the players we have and are looking at.
Maybe Moyes feels this is his one shot staying in the job and if that's the case we should have got a new manager In in the summer a younger man with fresh ideas.

Agree with this mate.

It looks like we've generated some money to spend through one time financial events that we are unlikely to be able to repeat and the two key recruitment people are still working their notice at City and United.

Last thing we want is to blow what money we have got on players that take us from 13th to 10th at best.

Purely guessing here, but if you say we've got £200m (through the debt restructure, sale of Goodison and Everton Women) as a last chance to try and break the European places. I'm not convinced spending half of it on Travers, Aznou, Alcaraz, Barry, Dewsbury-Hall and Dibling is getting us there.

They've been in talks for a week mate, i think Ornsteins drop today might be their final gambit to flush out theirs and to start a bidding war - its no fee specific - its signaling, nothing ventured..........

Just going through some of the Saints forums, they are resigned to loosing him.

Interesting they value Mateus Fernandes as their prized asset over Dibling, also there is another young lad Robinson there that they rate.

I would have loved Dibling but I think Southampton are pushing their luck now, with their latest counter offer, not just a big increase in valuation but a 25% sell on fee, walk away.
Totally agree, 25% sell on would mean we would need to get just short of 70 million just to get our money back .
Southampton are taking the piss at 50 million it's a huge risk for us on a player that is still to prove himself in the top division
