Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

That publically documented 27mil bid seems a bit like a pisstake now doesn’t it by us.

For context - if you was opening negotiations for a 200k house, our opening offer would have been 108k. Not the greatest way of managing a deal

I’m not sure it is a pisstake. When you look at it, it’s probably around the player’s actual value. A 19-year-old prospect with fewer than 50 games, I’d say anywhere between £20–25 million is about right.

Obviously, to Southampton, he’s worth whatever they say he’s worth, and they’re well within their rights to command such a fee, he belongs to them. You can use the same analogy: if I have a house worth £200 grand, I’m naturally going to put it up for more than it’s valued at to try and make more money. I’m not going to list it at the exact amount it’s worth.

Anyway, £50 million and a sell-on clause? I’d be walking away if I were Everton.

Yes but we’ve known since January what we’ve needed. It scandalous that the season is less than 2 weeks away and our starting 11 might not contain one new signing.
Clearly they thought they get their top targets and they havnt, look at what Southampton are doing, probably had the same off other clubs, the market is way over valued right now

29 year old Diaz 69 mil
Mbuano 70 million-worth 35 max
Isak 125-150

I understand some fans want too embrace the fact that we are a buying club this summer but the execution and communication from those who are putting together a new squad has been disorderly which has shown up in the negotiations.

We have onboarded new players to there credit but we have failed to convince our top targets and underestimated the selling party key representatives.

Only one of those players looks remotely close to being signed. The season kicks off next week.
Tete has been signed, to a new contract with Fulham. As for the rest, it'll work out or it won't and we move on. Someone above compared us to city and rs, so the two most recent league champions and with a collection of fine players already in parallel with giving some of the most lucrative contracts in the league.

Like throwing a wobbler because if you want something loud enough it ought to be delivered.

So much moaning.
