Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

That publically documented 27mil bid seems a bit like a pisstake now doesn’t it by us.

For context - if you was opening negotiations for a 200k house, our opening offer would have been 108k. Not the greatest way of managing a deal
Well a house is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it no matter the asking price. Nobody has come in with a higher bid than us yet and I doubt anyone will.

Well no, it depends on how realistic the asking price is.

I’d next door just sold for 110k then an opening offer of 108k is sensible even if they owner is saying 200k

I think there are few issues here, firstly we are now on our ‘plan E ‘ for this general type of player .
Like all clubs Southampton want to get the most they can , but want their supporters to know they got the best price for a homegrown talent , hence the accompanying blow by blow commentary.
I also think that Southampton are confident his value will rise not fall, and that they are happy to retain him for another season if we don’t meet their valuation.

It’s simply too far from their asking price. The same way we was offended with the branthwaite to Utd rumours/bids

I would walk away out of principle. Focus on other areas like RB and CM and wait until next season to buy a RW. Yes it’s a priority but we aren’t challenging next year. Or the year after. We have time.

They were prepared to negotiate but it was said earlier in the summer they value him close to £100million. £50millon plus a 25% sell on fee would probably get them to about £65-70 million at least if he kicked on and we sold him for big dough.
