If lots of people do it would become a way of referring to me. Andrew Flintoff’s name isn’t actual Fred.If I called you Gary instead of Kev it doesn’t make it true
This is a great day for GOT discourse

You replied to my comment to another posterJust ignore in future then pal rather than trying to protect your ego. It’s a waste of both our timer but especially mine.
Is that not allowed? Apologies if you can only manage one conversation at a time. Must be difficult at a dinner party. You replied to my comment to another poster![]()
'A few' is more precise I think.Maybe they could just use some. That would cover any number.

Listening to Boyland podcast this morning and he thinks its become a difficult deal to do.It will get accepted today.
I see the logic in that. Potential wise, this lad has it to increase his value, and therefore fits the model that we are aiming at. It's still a little un-nerving to be looking at the sort of fee Southampton are asking for though. Purely on the back of all the financial problems we've had since we last splashed the cash about, but like you say, it could be a brave decision TFG are happy to take. Maybe the 'experienced proven' box could be ticked with a Grealish (or similar) loan. There’s been a lot of “just go get Kubo” shouts but I think it would be a much worse idea (I appreciate you are just using him as an example).
For starters he’s 5 years older which doesn’t make him old for a footballer but is getting into prime age for a winger. It’s definitely the position that skews youngest in terms of value etc. It’s pretty rare unless it’s a superstar to see wingers go for massive money in their late 20s.
Personally I think if you pay 50m for Kubo at 24 that’s more likely than not the most anyone will ever pay for him and while resale value isn’t the only factor for Everton it’s a big big factor. Our model shouldn’t be buying at peak value.
Kubo by all accounts only had an OK season and 5 goals and 0 assists in La Liga isn’t that impressive. I guess maybe we thought we could buy the dip but 50m isn’t buying the dip. You’re probably paying almost twice what you should to cover the fact Sociedad only get half the money.
Dibling obviously is a risk because someone who has recently turned 19 isn’t going to have a body of work. That’s where you rely on your in depth scouting at all the levels he’s played at. But based on reputation and the interest and valuations he’s had in the past you probably get one window where you have a shot at getting him and this is it. By the time a kid like him gets to the proven ability stage he’s long long gone from our grasp. If the scouting says he’s an elite talent this is your shot.
It’s scary numbers but if the judgement is he’s got elite potential maybe you have to be bold.

Said he's not as confident as if was last week about getting it over the line.
