I’m personally not convinced Alcarez is a guaranteed starter (no bad thing). Moyes doesn’t seem to fancy him if he puts Tim in the middle at his expense..
When has he done that? Not sure you can read to much into preseason. Alcaraz looks extremely dangerous on the break to me. NDiaye, KDH, Dibbling, Alcaraz, Barrie. These are all players who thrive on turnover ball/counter attacking.

Dave, we've narrowly avoided relegation for three years on the bounce

What KDH should be to us is irrelevant. Currently he walks into our Starting XI and makes it better. That's an indictment on us, not him as a player. Think you should get real with what signings we can feasibly make and what we can achieve with them

Either way 30m is market value for KDH, whether you like it not. He's in his prime, was in the Championship Team of the Season 23/24 and spent 24/25 as an integral player in a European competition (no matter how tin pot) for a side that finished 4th. Sadly, 30m for a player of that stature is just the way things is these days
We narrowly avoided relegation in 23/24 by 14 points with an 8 point deduction.
We narrowly avoided relegation last season by 23 points.

We might need to consider what narrowly means.

Excited to see this guy play. Seems like a relatively good price, Chelsea need to sell.

The process being more important than the outcome is a very common concept in game theory and business. I guess we need to create some TikToks to explain it to you lot?

The last preseason game against utd… I mean you can argue it was only pre-season but if you have plans for Alcaraz as your 10 then he needs to be getting minutes there.. especially over big Tim

Extreme example but if I put my entire savings on a roulette number do we need to know where the ball lands to know that was a bad decision? Does it become a good decision if I win?

Sports decision making is all a game. You can make bad ones and win anyway sometimes.
That’s a completely idiotic analogy though. You’re comparing a game of complete chance involving no skill with the ability to judge the value of a footballer based on metrics and watching hundreds of hours of footage. The two things are completely different. Who are the other examples of bad signings that worked out?

In the games at the end of last season Alcaraz was the one getting picked. Moyes will be exploring all his options. I wouldn’t read to too much into preseason.

Alcaraz doesn’t look quite good enough to be a regular for me.
He was one of our best players at the end of last season. He needs to improve for sure but if he’s on the bench a lot then that’s a pretty good sign. I think he could have 15 g/a next year if he starts a lot. He always creates chances if he’s on the pitch for long enough.

I think a lot of the indifference shown towards him from some Leicester fans stems from the fact that he was one of the players they looked to (similar to Maddison and Vardy) who they felt should've been pulling them away from danger in 2022/23 when they went down. He was superb for them in the Championship under Maresca, who then took him to Chelsea for £30m as he obviously trusted him to be a consistent performer in his first season there.
Nah there's no ill will to KDH at all from Leicester fans. He wasn't even 1% to blame for our relegation that season. I think most Leicester fans think quite fondly of him in general. He didn't even force the move to Chelsea and I think if we didn't desperately need the money he'd have been quite happy to stay (maybe delusional).

He was integral to our promotion in 23/24, looked a cut above the championship but our squad was stacked with players too good for the championship that season and Maresca got the most out of them.

I don't envisage him being anyones favourite player but I also don't see him evoking much anger or frustration from your fans either. He'll give his all and show his quality imo. It will be nice to see him getting back to playing regular football again
