Some of you really don’t like Dews.
You dont think £25mil + £3mil signs a far better player?
This chap is average. He wont be crap but he wont be very good either.
Just an average player.
Certainly not what i expected.
Of course i have. Actually the one French side i took a semblance of an interest in the past couple of seasons.
He wasnt their best midfielder last season, but his technical ability is far superior to this signing.
You've been on ignore ever since i tried to understand the first post of yours i saw.
Dont waste your time.
The lad got on the pitch 13 times for Chelsea in the league and played 20 mins on ave.
I hope he’s a success, we’re massively overpaying. IMO xx
Not £30M for a player who's record is patchy.
You dont pay that out for a squad player, which is what he should be for us.
He'll let us down time and time again. MIA.
25m is good value for a top level championship player when they’re still 24. A couple years on it is much less so.Depends really
If you're suggesting that the lack of premier league starts is an indictment of his quality, well for one of those seasons he couldn't start in the Prem because he was playing in the Championship, and for the other season he was playing second fiddle to Cole Palmer. So I'm not sure there's much to go on there
If you're suggesting that the fee is too high for a player who hasn't played in the premier league for two years... then go and find me someone who has, who is good enough to improve our team, wants to come, and for the same price. if you can, I'll make you right on that one.
Sadly the market is the market, 25m is good value for a top level Championship player (which he was at age 24/25?) and who now has a year's experience of playing in Europe
Agree, it’s a very difficult player trading market this season. Adequate players going for £20-30m, good going for upwards of £40m, hence why the likes of Fulham, Palace, and others making few incomings.Dave, we've narrowly avoided relegation for three years on the bounce
What KDH should be to us is irrelevant. Currently he walks into our Starting XI and makes it better. That's an indictment on us, not him as a player. Think you should get real with what signings we can feasibly make and what we can achieve with them
Either way 30m is market value for KDH, whether you like it not. He's in his prime, was in the Championship Team of the Season 23/24 and spent 24/25 as an integral player in a European competition (no matter how tin pot) for a side that finished 4th. Sadly, 30m for a player of that stature is just the way things is these days
Perhaps when we've got a more stable position in the league, yesIt maybe should though. We’d get a lot further that way.
Chelsea spent well over £300 million on 3 central midfielders he was never going to get a sniff in their PL team.I mean, he's had an underwhelming year where he has hardly played in the PL mate. The European comp they are in is like championship standard really.
He’s definitely creative imo, and can go box to box, hopefully he pleasantly surprises the doubters. You said similar about Wharton, Rigg is clearly going to be a top player. The only thing is, how is he going to he managed and developed at Sunderland.
We've not gone out to every available option in Europe have we? We cant have been rejected by every good midfielder across the continent.
Im dismayed at this Dewsbury-Hall deal.
£45mil for Dibling would become a bit of a gamble...but if were throwing £28-30mil on average premier league midfielders then we need to make the Dibling gamble.
I dont see Dewsbury-Hall as a creative midfielder. I see him, like Garner as an all-rounder.
He'd be more advanced on the left with Garner deeper on the right.
A good balance.
30M in today’s market for an above average prem established Midfielder is F A, who was the alternative? BrownhillThis is a solid signing, well happy
