Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Agreed on prices.

I think a lot of business gets done closer to the start of the season / end of the window as teams need to fill out squads, reduce numbers / wages and balance the books.

I’m still wary of what we will look like in a few weeks but it’s just the way it seems to go. United for example need to shift Sancho, Garnacho, Antony and potentially the likes of Højlund and Dallot. Wolves have lost both fullbacks one of which was their captain, there’s a few teams with new managers and Newcastle and Brentford have lost key players after very strong seasons.

It’s not been what we wanted but the lack of activity is generally reflected across the majority of the league. Only Brighton and the promoted teams have been active outside of the top 3.

It doesn’t make it any easier to take, especially given the level penance and attrition already banked!
If Hojlund and Daillot are being sold I imagine we would be sniffing.....rightly or wrongly.

I'm calm about things, because we cannot change or influence them.

It has been sobering, these past few weeks, though.

This summer of all years, with the new stadium, we want to forget about our place in the food chain, only every day we seem to be reminded of it.

Perhaps there will be some redemption, but I do feel this summer has been a big wasted opportunity, and they will not come around often.

I'm all for some optimism though. The Lukaku signing in 2013 turned our fortunes around that season, and it might happen again. If it does it will be probably more by accident than design, but I wouldn't complain.

They have protected their investment, they will be able to realise the stadium value in a years time and be able to sell for a healthy profit.

It’s smart and a good investment but doesn’t help us win does it because that’s what we are all in this for seeing our club win.

How come it took you until 4 days before we sacked Dyche to join the forum mate?

Not saying that it's at all suspicious, maybe us being at our lowest point last season inspired you to join up to bolster morale etc....
