Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Anyone making the Brownhill shouts has learnt nothing from recent years.

If we want to progress, we cannot be signing rubbish like that as squad filler.

Ideally, every signing we make should be stronger than what we currently have. It's not easy, but it seems to be in line with what the club are trying to do

Anything else, such as rubbish like Brownhill, just means we go round and round in our current cycle of despair
I dont disagree BUT let this scenario play out...we move into the new stadium and end up in and around the bottom three all year...if we couldnt sell the project this year, fat chance next summer.

But he would do that because he’s better than Tim Iroegbunam?

They will definitely sell him. It's a case of when, not if. He's made it clear he wants out, he's not training with them, left out of their tour and now an initial bid has been rejected.

They know Liverpool are horny for him and have got hundreds of millions to spend --> he'll go for about £120m imo, probably a hunny up front and the rest in semi-realistic add-ons.

Newcy Brown will sell and use the money to invest in three top quality players, probably end up stronger for it as well.
Sorry but reading this thread is bad enough, really couldnt give two Sh#t$ how much frikkin $$ the RS have and are going to pay for anyone...please😊

So we sign older Championship players to stay out of the relegation fight?
...as opposed to signing nobody....we cant get the targets we want...we dont want to spend money on " untried youth"... we dont want the likes of Soucek and Brownhill....who exactly ARE we hoping to sign that is going to elevate us in one season? Asking for a friend:)

Right now mid table this season would be an achievement! I love Everton as much as the next man but come on. Weve tried to take a huge leap by trying to buy big names...not happening for reasons that have been explained...so what? We pout and go with the dross weve been watching in the US because we are EVERTON and wont settle for mediocrity...hell, we arent even mediocre people...West Ham and Bournmouth are mediocre...
If we don’t try and break out of the cycle of mid table / relegation scrappers we will remain as a club stuck in a never ending purgatory of celebrating not getting relegated like it was actually a trophy .
We settle for second rate players and we continue being a second rate club .
West Ham and Bournemouth have actually celebrated in the last 30years .
We have had nothing .
That is the definition of mediocre .

I didn’t mention Soucek. It’s August first, if we’re settling for Josh Brownhill as anything other than squad filler we might as well start planning for the parachute payments now.

Every year teams come up and ‘championship players’ do well. A decent scouting network could definitely pick up some good cheap players
He’s 30. He’s a championship player on the downside of his career. He’s spent plenty of time, in his prime, as a premier league player and was a plodder on perennial relegation candidate.
