That's his point. They don't pay £60m on proven players, they gamble on promising players in the £30m bracket.Brighton get praised for NOT spending £60M+ on talent

yes he said that, I get it nowThat's his point. They don't pay £60m on proven players, they gamble on promising players in the £30m bracket.
Right now mid table this season would be an achievement! I love Everton as much as the next man but come on. Weve tried to take a huge leap by trying to buy big names...not happening for reasons that have been explained...so what? We pout and go with the dross weve been watching in the US because we are EVERTON and wont settle for mediocrity...hell, we arent even mediocre people...West Ham and Bournmouth are mediocre...Apart from the signing on fee and his wage bill , which will be higher than if he was bought .
We have to do better than the Brownhill’s .
Or we will never progress from mid table / relegation battlers .
He hadn't responded when I started writing. 8 players in the last 4 years have cost them what we bid for Dibling or more, so it's very much something they do.yes he said that, I get it now
Though I'd say for the most part they spend even less than the 30m bracket and find gems
yes they do, I acknowledged that, but they still find a lot of gems cheaperHe hadn't responded when I started writing. 8 players in the last 4 years have cost them what we bid for Dibling or more, so it's very much something they do.
To be fair, mate:What is really going on at Everton, we never hear from the new owners, Moyes appears to be blaming the owners for lack of transfers, never hear from the board and the media are just guessing what is going on. Surely as long and suffering supporters who just keep om paying our money we are entitled at least some information.
If….we had more money we could buy at both ends of the talent and price spectrum.I do wonder how long that gambling is sustainable. The Brighton model will unravel at some point.
They do, and obviously we'll have to aswell, but that wasn't the point being being made. As the original post said, you can't praise Brighton for what they do and then moan about us doing it. That they don't only do that was never up for debate.yes they do, I acknowledged that, but they still find a lot of gems cheaper
Much better scouting network than most
Patterson is only adequate cover for for a hole in the sofa cushion...Or they see JOB and Patterson as adequate cover and want to prioritise elsewhere (such as left back - done, ST -done, and CM and WF - irons in the fire)
Maybe we do sign a right back, but I believe these other positions are more important to fill first, then let's see how much money we have left at the end of it

Nobody knows anything of the sort, you curious wee sausage.If….we had more money we could buy at both ends of the talent and price spectrum.
Unfortunately as we all know, and some won’t admit,we have to cut our cloth according to our needs in respect of value for money.
To be fair, mate:
It’s rare than any owners of any club ever make public statements outside sackings.
Lots of managers (and a few this summer already) express dissatisfaction with support over transfers. Quite rightly in our case.
See first point, re board.
The media are literally almost always guessing about transfers. There is a whole industry now built around blagging semi-plausible rumours to hoover up clicks.
Our sense of entitlement as supporters, misplaced or otherwise, doesn’t change any of the above. Clubs don’t tend to disseminate info on enquiries, or ongoing/failed transfers so we’ll only hear from them when a transfer is agreed at the very earliest. What I suspect you actually want is news that we’re on the verge of signing loads of boss players but I would guess that we’re almost certainly not. Sorry mate.
