Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Spending at least 30m on some random 19 year old with only limited second division experience as presumably our first choice starter at RW is complete lunacy. How can we possibly go from Kubo to this.
I am yet to read anywhere Kubo has said no so I hope we keep trying for him and spend the money on him if necessary. It’s been so long since we’ve had an electric out-and-out RW so I really don’t want some random 19 year old coming in as the solution.
This isn’t just some random 19 year old. This is a kid with bags of potential. People wouldn’t mind if we spent 35m on McAtee. Southampton were telling Spurs in January they wanted 80m for this kid.

Mate this club don’t have a clue what they’re doing and probably are just bidding for a laugh. To make it look like they’re acting urgently after Moyes’ comments.

It’ll be closer to £50m after add ons that they want.
Just don't see how phantom bids help them at this stage especially when Moyes is having a meltdown everytime he comes within 10 foot of a reporter.

Given how the summer has gone I don't think we will spend over 35 million on any player. Not ideal but the way they were funny with Barry's release clause, baulking at the Mcatee fee and now this makes me think it's an internal cap

So Hackney must not be any good because nobody from the PL has bid for him yet? I am pretty sure there have been many successful bids for players at Championship level and below which have seen like speculative punts at the time, but have later proved to be pretty inspired. Olise and Eze spring to mind, and I also remember Ivan Toney at Posh for a couple of seasons before going to Brentford, and he was premiership ready before he left League One and could have skipped the season in the Championship, but nobody was ready to take the chance.

I am not saying Hackney is fixing our problems, they are far reaching and one player is not fixing this window and I do not know about him, but maybe, just maybe, it might not be a bad thing others are not so interested as we may actually get this one over the line, as chasing unrealistic dreams all window does not seem to be working out too well so far, although I still remain hopeful one or two marquee signings may come to fruition. Also, if I was to look at all of the players written off on here who work out to be pretty good elsewhere then that list would not be a short one.
