Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Let's be real if we want to swim with the sharks and be in the conversation for the players that we're after we need to be ready to back it up with our wallet. That's what this is ultimately coming down to imo.

People may not like it but if you're asking players like Fofana, Kubo etc to take what is realistically a sideways step from where they are to sign for us, the way we will get it done is by offering a compelling wage.

If we've gone into this window thinking we can sell ourselves as a project off the back of having an amazing new stadium it's naive to say the least. We have been THE banter club of the Premier League for the last 5 years. Doesnt matter what back room changes we make or how slick Friedkin looks in his spitfire, if we're asking people to get in at the ground floor we need to pay them enough to give them a reason to say yes.

Joke now isn't it
Just boring had a chance this season with new ground and well get fans optimistic for the season. Is only so much can take of it being hard get players in, i have liked the signings so far but patience has just gone for me. Like how the hell have we not been able to bring in one right sided player so far this window.

People moan because we have disappointed and flattered to deceive for years.

“We all want Everton to do well”

Yes that’s right, so what’s the problem? They are not doing well so people are going to say so mate!

We are talking about a fan base that consists of hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of people, not everyone is going to think alike are they.

It’s like on Facebook and X, one fan says something negative and others over exaggerate that loads are doing it. The sensitivity from some of them is ridiculous and it’s obvious it’s comes from the fact we have not done well for years and dont want to hear it.

Then we have crap like “moan if we don’t sign players, moan when we do”. Well what if the individual “moaning” just happens to be disappointed it’s that certain player that has been signed.

Annoys me that we still push this big club stuff yet the mentality is far from it

I bet you if we do make some actual decent signings then the ones perceived as moaning or “cry arsing” will get stick , and for what? For wanting them to do that in the first k’n place!!
Well done on completely missing my point .

Do you think Roma would give us Rensch now they signed Wesley

Big sexy question for ya, meff heads...

Would you prefer us doing our business AT THE VERY END of the transfer window, writing off the first few games but the players we end up with were our #1 priority targets

OR

They start dishing out those cringey player announcement videos next week like there's no tomorrow, of #2 & #3 targets and we get all of our business done before we kick a ball in the new season?

Even though it's frustrating, I'd write off the first few games for #1 targets and think about the bigger picture (the next 2-3 seasons).

Mash potato.
I don't think anyone that signs from now until Leeds starts that first game anyway

I think Moyes thought that fanbase coupled with our history and a new stadium would bring the players in.

But instead, the players are looking at "fighting relegation for the last three seasons" and said thanks but no thanks.
I never understood why so many people thought that the stadium was such a big selling point for potential new players.

No my issue is if both centre backs are injured, like that are now. Without Keane that means who at centre back? Right back wouldn’t change that, unless you put Patterson in there with O’Brien….

I’m no big Kegger fan but he’s alright as a 4th choice, only becomes disastrous if one of the top 3 get a long term knock I agree.
He's terrible but I accept that's who we've got, as I stated. My point was, and remains, that buying a new RB is critical for so many things but that it definitely keeps Michael Keane one step further away from playing as we won't have to play our giant Irish CB as a RB freeing him up to play in his natural position if either Branthwaite and Tarkowski are injured. But, yes, even if we sign a new RB, if most of our centre backs are injured and/or suspended then we will have to play the disaster that is Michael Keane.
