Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

For the people who want us to sign Brownhill, what is he actually good at? I'm saying this because I don't remember really ever watching them play or stand out in any game. The 18 goals last season looks very impressive on paper but has anyone here actually watched him enough to advocate for his signing or is it the classic "we've been rubbish in pre-season and need players and he's free so sign him" lark.

Well that was awful ... again.
Moyes has spelt it out loud and clear that we are not an attractive proposition. So let's stop wasting time on Luiz, Grealish, Fofana, Kubo, McAtee - none of them are coming to this s**tshow.
18 days until Leeds and we need at least 5, but probably as many as 8 or 9 players. FFS!
It’s high time we changed tack and move for players for whom Everton would be a step up and who don’t have expectations of getting a move to a glamour club. Fellows, Hamer, Jason Knight, Maitland Niles, Vagiannidis (if still available), are all players we’ve been linked with. And available for fees under £15.0m apparently. Or they were a few weeks ago – the selling clubs have got us by the short and curlies at this late stage so they’ll squeeze us for more than we should be paying and every day we dither the prices will go up.
Out of contract players would move to us – definitely we should go for Eriksen, and possibly Brownhill, Coufal or Semedo.
And hopefully add a couple of up and coming young players from Eastern Europe, South America, Asia, Africa to give us some hope for the future.
Yes that's our downfall in this transfer window going for Luiz, Grealish, Fofana, Kubo and McAtee.

Genuinely this would be what I suggest. A pointless exercise sending that team out there to be demolished and risk further injury to the handful of players we have left.

Disgraceful window. I wouldn’t be surprised if Moyes walked at the end of this month. The recruitment team don’t have a clue what they’re doing.

Silly post mate. Just wait before throwing the baby out with the bathwater

Are people pining for Thelwell ?

He'd score more than any of our midfielders did last season.

We are used to Moyes managing expectations and applying internal pressure via press comments from last time around. I suspect Kinnear and Hammond are less comfortable with it but they have invited pressure by inability to address our biggest needs early. Going to be an interesting atmosphere when Moyes and the squad are back in UK.

How long are we “just waiting” for? Should the manager “just wait”, as he’s clearly fuming at our recruitment team’s performance in this window and thinks we’re miles behind and woefully short of where we need to be? Have any of the Ostrich’s been and told him to calm down because everything will be alright in September?

Can you tell me what James Garner is good at? Or Tim Iroegbunam? Both of those players could play entire Championship careers without getting 18 goals, let alone in one season.

What kind of argument is that? I'm not discussing either of them or advocate that they're good enough to be starters, I'm trying to gauge what Brownhill is good at. Can you tell me, since you wanted to sign him?

Well evidently he’s good at scoring goals. And yes I want to sign him, because he’s better than all of our midfielders bar 36 year old Gana.

Now go on tell me what James Garner is good at.
