2024/25 David Moyes

Read between the lines. He's a fellow manager. He's not gona say he's sh!t is he.

I know. But I mentioned it in relation to a claim he's been ultra positive since he got here.

He hasn't been.

He's been guarded and fenced a lot concerning what's possible here.

It's what he does, a leopard can never change its spots and I have no idea what people believe this time around is a changed man.

Zero ambition beyoind "getting higher up the table".

It's not good enough and never ever has been.

So what was with the pretty significant improvement from them when Dyche was booted then?

We finished in exactly the same position as the year before didn't we - without the point deduction.

Moyes is a better manager 100% - i can tell you i was one of the minority who wanted him back when Dyche left.

But it was a crap squad, both managers got the same out of just pick the season.

So why did Dyche have those same players in and around the bottom three for so long the following season?

He has been. Its a lie to say he hasnt. Ive sat there and listened to him talking about Europe. Dyche sat in pressers mocking Everton fans about Europe. But a few weeks before the season and we cant even fill the bench in America im not surprised if a few comments are surfacing. Hardly expecting him to do cartwheels about it.

If it was anyone but Moyes saying that, Dave would be eating up the words and wanting a mural.

I genuinely don't know why he's not on ignore for everyone honestly

The more I think about it, Moyes is a divvy for saying '9-10 players' when that was never realistically going to happen..

At best, it's giving fans false hope and a narrative to spin. At worst, it's potentially throwing things behind the scenes into disrepute.

Saying we're 'desperate' last night when it's still July is even worse really..

Realistically we do need 9-10 players of varying ability and readiness - we need at least 4 more first team players and several subs/rotation options currently. Or do you mean we'll go in with 16 players again and hope no one gets injured ever, and just never send them to the ACN in December?

Damned if he does and all that - if he'd said "yeah we can do it with 2-3 fresh additions" people would be pissed either way.

Last season, when the season before we finished with enough points for 13th, Dyche said essentially we're fighting relegation cuz that's as good as these players are. People agreed for some reason.

This season, the manager says that the last few years the team was around the relegation zone for most of the season - "HOW DARE HE?!?!?!"

Ok then.

Last five seasons finishing positions

20/21 - 10th
21/22 - 16th
22/23 - 17th
23/24 - 15th*
24/25 - 13th

* 8 points deducted and 12th without it.

2 seasons out of the last 5 you could class as fighting relegation so he is talking guff.

So why did Dyche have those same players in and around the bottom three for so long the following season?

Because he’s simply a terrible manager, I thought this had been long established since he left?

None of this changes the fact that a squad of 17 useable senior players once it picks up a couple of injuries and/or fatigue, will inevitably struggle to win many or any Premier League football matches.
