Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It's also a world cup and ACON year, pre season games are underway and now the pressure switches onto the players wanting to get moves - Aznoe wants to be playing to get picked by Morocco, so Forfana, Luiz, Mcatee and a few others now are gonna feel pressure to sort out their own moves or else face sitting on a bench in Luiz and Mcatees cases or playing in a weaker league in a much weaker side than last season in Forfana case.

The dynamics aren't purely on us time wise but also on the players to make decisions

Im probably the biggest Moyes fan boy on here over the years - but i think his comments over the state of play in the transfer window are really unhelpful for the club - im really disappointed in him.

There is a headline stories this morning titled:

Moyes: Really good players have turned Everton down this summer.

If you are a good player and deciding whether to join us or not and manager is saying really good players dont want to or havent decided - are you more or less likely to join.

Ifi was the recruitment team id be livid.

Its poor, very poor and im surprised and disappointed at him.
Unfortunately I think you are correct with the assessment of his statement. It sends the wrong message, and agents will not see it as a good thing for their players.

Agents will already know exactly what we’ve been Upton this year. They keep across everything. He’s being straight, probably because most of our fans only believe what foreign Facebook clickbait tells them.

But, their strategy seems to be to make money on developing players rather than becoming a big club.

At least clubs like Everton , Forest, Spurs have ambitions to be winning trophies in the future and being top four clubs in the league.
This strategy has allowed them to be considerably more successful than Everton over the past few years.

They are trying to disrupt the establishment. They have to do this off a solid financial base as they don't have the benefit of ridiculous international revenues like the Top 6 clubs. The process is working for them, however the days of £5m bargains from South America have gone, so they've have to adapt their tactic.

What they are doing is the only way we are going to generate sufficient revenue to compete with the bigger clubs in the league and avoid PSR issues right now.

After years of being spoon fed bull shine from true blue bill …

I actually like his transparency and honesty actually …

I appreciate his honesty even if it's not good news. Won't have any impact on us in the market though. Agents and other clubs will already know exactly what's been happenning. It's not like Moyes is giving away top secret information.

Players probably have a high opinion of themselves as well. They may well have started the window thinking CL clubs would be queueing up. Suddenly when it’s later in the window guaranteed first team football in the PL doesn’t start looking so bad compared to warming the bench for another season.

And for some it'll be hard to cut the chord and leave a club they been at a whilst.

You’re missing the point mate. Agents might know everything, but Moyes statement sends out a bad message.

Moyes saying we’ve been rejected by a bunch of players is a terrible idea imo Certainly not going to help us sign boss players. Advertising your weaknesses certainly doesn’t make us look good to potential targets.
