Well if we take it that Joyce is usually fairly accurate, for the first time I'm smelling a rat with the new ownership, pulling from the old Everton playbook. No way is the Kubo deal too financially difficult and Dibling an appropriate alternative. Southampton were quoting £100m for the lad. And even if they end up way short, we will be paying them more than City want for McAtee, and similar to what Sociedad want for Kubo. For a player who is almost totally unproven.
Abd we 'lost out' on a first choice option who was obvious going to Juventus all along. Plus they're putting out all the feelers about business going into September. Not a great look tbh.
