Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Once Roma have completed their key business attention can be turned towards getting signings done at the secondary club Everton. That's what people joked and that's what is becoming a reality. Hit Moyes with a big no interview rule until it's too late and we're going into the season with McNeil playing RW
There are different people in charge doubt Dan Friedkin is involved himself all the time. Other clubs transfers take a lot of time too

If Kubo is the right wing target nothing can happen until after their tour of Japan next week as he is headlining all the marketing. If he isn’t maybe something will surface before we fly out to USA. As always most rumours are just that, rumours. Hopefully the Pickford extension talk is true. Tying him and Branthwaite on longer deals would be solid squad maintenance. As with houses doing maintenance on what you have is not as exciting as buying a new one but it is every bit as important.
Agree totally mate.
I have a gut feeling that the Kubo rumour is genuine , and that we are in with a real chance of getting him.
Not ITK in any way , and things can always change , but fingers crossed.

We aren’t their secondary club, the premier league is the biggest and richest. We will be their main focus soon

Not getting worked up over the window isn’t weird. I would guess very few people on here are actually worked up over the window, in terms of it affecting their day to day life. I’d like us to sign loads of good players but I can’t influence it either way and my life will go on regardless of whether it happens or not, I assume pretty much everybody else that you may think is a rabid lunatic because they’ve said they’d like us to have done more business has a very similar outlook. The attitude of some people of ‘I know i’m posting on a football forum transfer thread on a Sunday morning but I’m actually totally not bothered about transfers whatsoever everything is wonderful why can’t you be more like me?’ Is what’s weird.

To be fair wed all be wingening and moaning on a football forum on a Sunday morning about something else Everton related if the window was closed mate.

Its a bit of a moot argument, peoples reactions are going to be different, like most things in life.

I think its ok to reality test it from time to time.

A lot of things can be true at the same time:

We made three very promising signings to be happy about and we need more and the season starts in a few weeks - slow starts and late signings have undermined our seasons in recent years.

We've made a significant investment already VS we need to spend big to get quality players in.

We started with about 11 odd in contract and now we are up to 20 but we need to do more.

Im going to annoy you, because im very interested in the window but im not concerned about it, i dont see why i should be to be honest, - i dont think there is a chance in the world that we dont have a squad of 25 players + come the end of Aug. 100%. Ive seen nothing in what we have done or are trying to do to think otherwise.

Others will think differently, as you say Everton have done a number on us for years and people will have anxiety and stress of the unknown because of that and seek urgent action to reduce anxiety, that's fine to.

Its when either side of the Zen or panic - becomes overbearing or condescending people get pissed off.

Everton transfer completed 3
Roma 0 (1 impending)
At least make an effort with your conspiracy theories.

That’s a given though isn’t it? People don’t just want us to sign anybody, they want us to sign good players. This ‘I’m dead zen about it me, everything will work out perfectly’ attitude that some people like to portray is a bit weird.
I think a lot of fans including myself are confident we will get who we need, we all want the players now.

What i dont want is for us to sign players we can get now, players that might be number 4 on the list or not even on it at all.
From the rumour mill this summer, would you be happy with Fellows Coufal Soucek already signed or would you rather wait to see if we can get better?

Them across the road tragically lose a striker what do they do
Go out and get a replacement within several weeks !

Pretty sure we signed maupay very late in the window so he’s probably not a great example to use.

I think everyone acknowledges that it would be better to sign good players late than bad players early. This isn’t really cutting insight, despite numerous people proclaiming it as if it is. The fairly obvious problem people have is that we’ve made a habit of getting late in the window but then not ending up with the good players we were supposedly waiting all summer for, and so people are fairly understandably concerned that the same might happen again.
The only consolation is were not signing useless French midgets at the last minute…
And im not one to be pressing panic buttons!

Do you think it’s realistic that our recruitment team will be allowed to do anything without Moyes overseeing it with a fine toothed comb?
This is why I didn’t want Moyes back, I can be arsed with his dithering.
Also he is a defensive coach, not as bad as dyche, but he is. Hopefully he was appointed as a steady hand IE Ranieri at Roma and the recruitment team are already looking at his long term replacement

The new owners have invested heavily in the leadership team which is a strong sign of intent. We’ve spent £45m already. We tried for delap, missed out and got Barry. We might not get our first choices but I can see we have a plan for the first time in years

And we don’t have Bill and Moshiri clowning about
