Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Ha ha, just taken a gander at the Everton Transfer Reliability Guide at the top of this page.

The Esk is listed as Tier 5. Talk about wiping out the credibility of Kaveh Solhekol et al.

Would liked to have seen him play regularly next to someone other than carthorse Keane. If he’d had a season next to Tarkowski playing a low block with Mykolenko on the other side I reckon we’d have seen a better player.

Instead it was playing in between Keane and Jonjoe Kenny, or Coleman, or even worse in a back 3 with Keane absolutely miles out of position most of the time.

He didn’t do much at West Brom after he left but he did show some good form for them at wing back on loan first time. And then under Silva for us at one point before the Firmino incident. and then at right back under Ancelotti, but the rest of the time his confidence and decision making got completely destroyed playing next to that elephant and he never recovered.

The first half a season under Ancelotti next to mina he looked fantastic i thought. But the rumours were he had a bad attitude, thought he was better then he was and stopped training as hard as he had after the injury.

Tbh may of looked good because he was next to mina. Who i will argue was one of the best cb in the league during his time here but was just destoryed by injuries.

Maybe we are trying to sign Luiz. If so, it would be a good thing if we could finance it without an undue burden. It's probably unlikely we will.

It seems a delicate balancing act, you can't waste too much time if you get a sense it's going nowhere and need to avoid being strung along by agents.

None of that is an excuse though. We have a lot of work to do and I don't want to see them going down unproductive rabbit holes.

He’d be a statement player though. City were reportedly after him as he was leaving Villa. If we can get him over the line it would solve a lot of issues in the midfield. Liz and Hackney if possible would give us a decent clutch of players.

Luiz, Hackney, Gueye, Garner, Armstrong, Iroegbunam. 6 players for the 2 deep lying positions, could even send Iroegbunam or Armstrong on loan again.
