Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I just think, regardless of what happens, a starting XI of the below should be beating Leeds United regardless of new transfers. No excuses this season to not be strong.

Pickford
O’Brien
Tarkowksi
Branthwaite
Mykolenko
Gana
Garner
McNeil
Charly
Ndiaye
Beto/Barry

I mean it's not a perfect eleven, but basically one that got 31 points in 19 games with a good manager. It's a decent point to start from, but surely need depth and some quality, to not have a bench that's as frightening as around February/March.

We will not go into this season with the squad boxed off as it is now

All I'm trying to show people is that regardless of transfers, our strongest XI shouldn't be throwing away August games again.

I understand we need to fill the squad out but if you look at this list, hardly anything has happened with most PL clubs this Summer. Only a few teams (Brighton, Burnley, Chelsea, Sunderland) have brought in a raft so far.

If you want to sign someone early you can end up paying a premium, but can have the whole of the summer to settle the new signing in for the start of the season. If you leave it till the last hour you can get your pants pulled down only to find out you`ve signed one that doesn`t fit in. I`d prefer to get players in early so there`s no excuse for having them ease into the first month or so before they really get to start in the team. I hope the focus is on bringing players in that are expected to be starting most weeks. We`ve signed one or two that were ones for the future in past windows, and that future has never arrived.

Nah, as we sacked Mr slow start and the fixtures are Wolves, Leeds and Brighton - 3 teams we can realistically get points from - it might look on paper as we get points again.

There is value in continuity, but not much value in too much of it - we've been largely gash for half a decade with a lot of this squad.

It needs building on significantly.

Also be very very frustrating not to give ourselves the chance of a good start, our starts to the season have been very undermining in mid to recent times and its closely linked to our ability to close deals in the market.

If we've ambitions for Europe (and i do) 30 points by NY should be an aim.
