Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Wouldn’t a better method on here be to just wait until a player is signed and then discuss the hell out of him and what he may bring, where he may fit in and how he will fail? It’s why I’ve never got the info thirst, what would being a day or two ahead of transfer news make such a big deal? And most of it is pages wasted on players who will not even sign for Everton.

Go and enjoy summer pals and just wait until you see a new player in their blue wavy shirt and then come on here and say your stuff.
Talking sense on here will get you nownere
You will get shag all like talking the truth 😂

My point is we were happy to keep the "deadwood", as you described them, under certain terms. Whereas you were describing them leaving, alongside a non-playing as some sort of masterful strategy by the club.
I definitely didn’t imply it was a masterful strategy, I just said the three of those high wage players leaving is a good thing alongside Alcaraz signing and Branthwaite signing an extension which a lot of people have agreed with.

Deadwood is not the right term, I can agree with that, I’d say they were overpaid average players who we’d have kept on at much lower wages which they chose not to accept. My point was that previously we’ve chosen to give these average players mega contracts and I’m glad we haven’t again.

I can understand us keeping some of the OOC players for (say) League Cup early round games and as some cover. But considering Moyes wants a high press high energy team (allegedly) then have to question how many are capable of that. https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/...ejJz3AUiTXi3rl36OApGNojDMTndU1r2toKkdhn3fDgJR

Fellows, McAtee and Ben Doak. A right winger will definitely come in.

Of the names mentioned, the epitome of a player who can be "High press, high energy" is Kubo on the RW.

On paper the front 4 from Beto, Barry, McNeil, Kubo, Alcaraz and Ndiaye all fit this metric.

We would still need one more player, perhaps McAtee who could play at least RW & ACM.
