Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

yeah similar to Beto, but five years younger, we can not afford the finished article mate, wished we could, but he has a fair few very good attributes, very tall, good in the air, fast, strong, works hard and in all competitions scored 19 goals last year. Worth the gamble from what I've saw, seems to get in good positions and there is not a great deal of good strikers around at the moment.
I hope he does prove to be decent or one to develop...there is potential. I have a feeling he'll just massively frustrate us though and leave in couple of years for way less than we purchased him for.

I think I'm just peeved the ship has sailed on Woltemade really - I see him becoming a top player for years to come!

One who’s been a favourite and strongly linked to the club this and other windows.

Sunderland are a bigger club than Leeds
Long way to go for us in terms of recruitment but nice to start the ball rolling with this one. Going to be a long hard season no doubt but it's sure good to be back in the PL and can't wait to visit your new gaff .

Genuine question: in the short term, are we expecting the new stadium to be a net benefit to, or drain on, the clubs finances when the debt is set off against the increased match revenue? I'm not talking PSR; I mean in terms of actual available cash.

It's a stable long term loan of about £400 million over 20+ years, so approx £20 million a year. The naming rights deal is approximately £7 million and if you take the extra 13 thousand seats x 20 matches x £75 a seat is just under £20 million so I'd say we'll be slightly better off and in the long term a lot better off

Bet the improved and expanded corporate experience seats add a few million per season too

There's more though. Increased corporate revenue is being achieved, ticket prices have gone up for all seats, not just the 13,000 extra seats, the concourses and their efficiency compared to Goodison should ensure we're selling more stuff, and then there's the opprtunities to use the stadium for things other than football.

The club has projected an increase in annual revenue of £40 mill GBP approx annually - that was the figure doing the rounds pre TFG.

He's been a fairly regular goalscorer his whole career.
Yeah, the guy has made a career out of scoring just enough to be desirable to other clubs, never enough to be indispensable to his incumbent club, and he is probably a nice enough guy that when he leaves clubs, eventually they go, "You know, he wasn't that bad, and right now we have nothing up top, so might as well bring him back."
