Other Clubs Transfer Window 2025-2026.

Binned a load of keepers because they were rubbish with their feet, persisted with one who couldn’t save a shot but had great footwork, and now they’re binning him for a bloke who’s a great shot stopper and rubbish with his feet.
Football is moving away from the slow monotonous build up from the back the last 18 months and probably not required as much for the fast direct play the likes of PSG are adopting.

Guardiola might be thinking about changing approach

Bournemouth losing 3 of there back 4 to Liverpool, Real Madrid & PSG too.

Losing 1 a year of Stones, Delofeau, Barkley & Lukaku made me think 'what's the point' . Imagine losing all of them in one window in 2014

Just horrible innit, feel for the clubs, but it happens to us to, love to try to be a top class manager in the PL seems easy when you can just go out and buy so many clubs best players.

Its amazing how many just buy the players just so others cant have them, with no actual plan of how they want to use them or if there system actually suits the player.
I actually think Kerkez & Huijsen will do well and slot in at both the Reds & Madrid (Liverpool tend to actually do there homework before they buy a player)

But when Chelsea went for Huijsen, there was no actual plan, they just saw a release clause

Bournemouth obviously have an idea of where they are and in not a condescending manner i hope, i respect it. They have a fantastic scouting network and are able to find and sell talent, stay competitive in the league, they have not won anything but maybe thats not their goal? An aimless side like us who have skirted relegation, sold our best players and achieved nothing. It's admirable and i wish we had half of that capacity to find them players.

I don't think you are getting the point being put across.

The fans expectations will change as the club grows, they will of enjoyed this season, but they will likely look at someone like Palace with envy. (They only finished 8 points above us, and we gifted them 3 of them at Goodison, and we threw away a possible point at there place) Turn those 2 results around and they are 6 points worse off in 13th on 50 points and we are in 11th with 54 points

Scouting plans and networks....like tactics only work to a certain extent until everyone else clocks onto it (Southampton, Leicester).

As said, they would of enjoyed this season and grew attached to these players, but at what point does it get to a bit were they wont get attached because they know they are only there for a couple of years before they move to a top 6 club, should a part of there scouting plan be to bring players in who will add continuity to the side? You can't change 5/6 players every year and get it right every year (Southampton)

Brighton fans are beginning to get a little tired of the buy and sell model, with a few players not working out hanging around and what looks like Joao Pedro on his way

This bit especially for me. Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton all strike me as the flavour of the month at the moment, just like Southampton were a decade ago (remember when Stoke and Swansea were established mid table clubs as well?)

But there's only so long you can replace players with hidden gems year on year for. Eventually your luck will run out, especially if the managers jump ship like it looks with Frank to Spurs (and I imagine Iraola is probably looking at moving on in the next year or so while his stock is high).

I think Brentford are a bit different to the others mate, but its the same premise.

You look at how long there players stick around for, they tend to get 4 or 5 seasons out of them before they reluctantly sell.
Whenever they sign a player it tends to be with the first priority to be a footballer to help Brentford push on as a football team rather than an investment.
When they sign a player it tends to be to drop right into the team

Wonder if that might change with Frank leaving

I think Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton are very well-run. Brighton's trading over the past few years has been incredible with massive profits that sees them able to spend big and finish top half. Bournemouth also have great recruitment and have sold well - about to sell Kerkez for good money and Solanke last summer. Plus they have a strong manager.

Amongst other factors, an advantage Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton have over more established sides is that they take risk in the market without the media really caring or owners feeling the pressure of another failed signing. The stakes are lower compared to clubs with higher expectations - Everton being an obvious comparison where the pressure for quick wins has led to diabolical errors in the market. Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton don't have the same cultural baggage so can operate with far less riding on their every move. This leads to a clarity of thinking and a clarity of leadership that brings a relative success compared to what outside observes would expect.

Football is a cruel sport and clubs can drop like a stone due to a series of bad decisions, but at the moment the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton are so well set-up to be competitive in the PL. Expecting their demise because of some arbitrary cycle of ups and downs is possibly quite optimistic.
