Is Bill back from the grave and buying dinner for Levy again?Slightly concerned that we might get a broken down Richie plus a bit of cash for him. Much as I like Richie, his fitness is clearly an issue.

All true. This is not about morals. It's a test of the Friedkins: can they convince him to stay or can they extract maximum value from his sale?People forget as well that football careers aren’t long. He’s had 5 seasons with us in the first team making his debut under Carlo. He then came to prominence in the relegation run in under Lampard.
Now I actually think whilst it was good for his development the decision to loan him out in the 22/23 season was actually in retrospect absolutely crazy as Keane was basically on a one man mission to relegate us. We should have kept Branthwaite above Coady looking back. Imagine if we’d gone down and had a player of his calibre playing for someone else!
He’s then given us two seasons of playing every week in the first team and we’ve done absolutely nothing but sell all the good players around him,
He might give us another year if we’re lucky but wouldn’t shock me at all that he’s thinking he’s given us 5 years and wants to move on, make a load of money, get in the England team, and play CL football whilst he can.
I wouldn’t be worried about them. If he goes anywhere it won’t be there. Worse than us this season other than a cup run.Might be selling Romero would be my big worry

Either way, we are going to know all we need to know about these Texans very soon...
One thing we must remember is...Bill isn't in charge of transfers anymore.
One way or another it's going to be different.
He was far to willing to let teams pat us on the head and give our players away.

He developed massively in his loan. He cost us goals under Carlo and Frank, was just a kid.
Keane cost us goals that season almost every game. I just think people look back on the loan as a good thing because we stayed up but had we gone down I think there would have been some serious questions asked of the club as to why they let go of a player that was good enough to play CL football for PSV and came back and started immediately for us in the first team.
Sending him out on loan was 100% the right move. He just wasn't quite ready yet under Lampard. The red card he picked up against Brentford was just a mistake due to inexperience.Keane cost us goals that season almost every game. Alternatively we may have got relegated playing a teenage central defender and it might have ruined his career at the same time.
Don't forget Angus Kinnear is involved now and remember the absolute rigamarole we had trying to get Gnonto out of Leeds.Yeah. Id be surprised if the Friedkin's were push overs.
Exactly what i was going say spot on club is in a better position now aswell. Is the time for us not to be a pushover and stick to the figure we have and if they want him pay it or do oneDon't forget Angus Kinnear is involved now and remember the absolute rigamarole we had trying to get Gnonto out of Leeds.
Kinnear was the one who basically say pay the fee or leg it...He basically said you've got a contract and that's the end of it.
