2024/25 Kevin Thelwell

I don’t think he’s been bad at all as all DoFs have hits and misses, but it it is difficult to assess exactly how he has done, because he’s had to operate in a far more unfavourable financial and unstable environment than his predecessors, with the same dysfunctional board. Must have been horrendous.

Think the doffer did some terrific business in his final season, I've no doubt other aspects of the organisation have been improved aswell under extremely difficult circumstances. O'brien, Ndiaye and hopefully Alcaraz will be big players for us imo.

A proper football man if ever there was one.

A huge loss. How stupid are these yanks to let him go ahead of a pivotal summer window?

I'd be so confident he'd sort our right hand side out with quality at the very least.

It is the one mis-step the owners made, letting him go.

I agree! They reckon about 50% of all signings in the prem are a success I would rate Thelwells signings a lot higher than 50% even down to Tim Iroegbunam, we got the best of that deal.

I wasn't a fan, maybe lack of striker/Maupay created a blind spot.

It just seems odd to let him go now when this window could define the next few years.

With the scale of ins/outs, Moyes is going to need help and the last two windows were Thelwell's best.

O'Brien, Nidaye, Alcaraz for less than £50m is outstanding business.

I’m sure that’s linked to the fact that Kenwright & Moshiri were playing no role in recruitment last season and he could get on and do his job.
