Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Issue is and I don’t think he’s one of our best players he’s a average prem player, mid table at best, the longer we keep these players and keep buying similar, the longer it will take us to challenge. Also his best position is on the left, and he’s 2nd choice behind Ndiaye, yes he’s a decent back up for now, but we can’t have him on the right, we need a lot better. I’d happily sell him , but maybe that’s next summer

Our best players are N’Diaye, Branthwaite, and Pickford. Sure, McNeil’s not in that group. But he is at the top of the next category down, all of whom are average Premier League players. That’s just where our squad is. Thus, unless we want a side consisting of three players plus anyone we can buy this summer, we need to keep players of McNeil’s level for now.

Dont agree if honest i kno havent seen mich of it but imo moyes plays him on the right because wants him cutting inside and the fb bombing forward to create soace for crosses. Also so he can come inside and have shots, ofc we need different options like pace on both sides so we can adaot during games. Think we will see alot more from mcneil next season when is alot fitter
I'm not convinced that Moyes is 100% on McNeil tbh, mainly for many of the reasons you have listed above. He has only ever put him on the right so far (not his preferred side) If an offer came in for him it wouldn't surprise me if we take it tbh, like you said if we really want to climb the table then he just doesn't offer enough.

Think with a better right back he will do even better, but tough to find many players with his passing and crossing ability. Moyes loves a good cross.
