I don't think we need to retain both Coleman and Young.
I get the approach of ensuring some continuity as a sort of risk mitigation ahead what should be an unprecedented few months, but that doesn't extend to keeping both of them.
Both men seem to be motivational figures, and great with the other players but really they're paid to be footballers.
Young is quite remarkable for his age and just seems to have the physical resilience that unfortunately Seamus does not. As much as I respect Seamus who has been such a towering figure I would not be offering him an extension. It's no longer merited for purely football reasons. Let him captain the side on Sunday. We need to rid the club of any semblance of sentimentalism.
I would give a year to Young but just on the basis that the priorities elsewhere are addressed.
