Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Of the, what, 15 players out of contract, I suspect we'll see a few of them staying as squad players.

Too many incoming and outgoing in one window disrupts the chemistry of things too much. It'll be a gradual rebuild, but it starts this summer.
What chemistry? The culture of losers the club has?

Why do we want new players coming in and listening to Coleman complain about how hard it is on the players when they see scores from other games on the big screen.

Gut everyone associated with the crap culture at the club from top to bottom or contaminate anyone who comes in with it.

I can see making a argument for Young, DCL Keane Gana and Doucoure getting new contracts as they have all contributed this season but not Seamus. He has contributed next to nothing for the last two years.

Gueye, yes. Doucoure, Young, Coleman, no. Why are we keeping the players that have had us rooted in the relegation fight for four years with the expectation that that will result in a different outcome. We've allowed their contracts to run down for a reason. If you keep the same squad, you'll get the same outcome. Look at our recent run of form. Two wins in eleven games. Moyes is better than Dyche, not hard, but he is not a magician. We need better players.
These players specifically aren't responsible for the lack of wins. The unfortunate truth is we just don't have the ability to replace every single out of contract player AND bring in new better quality to surplus and replace. We need to be more tactical about where we use the money we have.
You've also got to think about the fact that no new player is going to want to join just to be a squad player, whereas established first teamers who are coming to the end of their career have a point to prove to outcompete new players coming in. Doucoure is a prime example of that.

Young on the other hand is still operating at an insanely good level given his age, and I can't imagine will be on a high wage so is relatively low risk.

Coleman is purely sentimental, if we can have him stay and play into his 60s id want that

Starting with David Moyes

Patterson definitely going to first bidder this summer, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if we see an early exit for Branthwaite too, despite all the 'Friedkins are going to invest' talk. I just hope that £50m release clause for Huijsen to Real Madrid isn't used to claim that also makes JD worth a similar value. Clearly he doesn't have a release clause and is far more important to us than Huijsen is to Bournemouth - any offer simply has to be far too good to turn down, definitely a minimum of what Maguire sold for.
