Joe Royle

He also spent big on Barmby who was a cracking player. I think ultimately his style of football wasn't going to work at the very highest level. Also he didn't exactly tear up any trees after leaving us
So bought well, won our last trophy with his style of football, and became disenfranchised with managing after how we parted ways with him. Your opinion and all, just disagree.

Shame how it turned out, he started off so well , a trophy too but when injuries hit especially with the likes of Joe Parky , it nosedived and I don’t understand why he brought the likes of Claus Thomsen here .

Only thing I wasnt a fan at all of was the way he spoke to the Echo a couple of years ago about what went on with the board/protests.

Bought a lot of rubbish for decent fees too. I still shudder at the money spent on Craig Short. Earl Barrett another. Marc Hottiger is another horror he bought. Could name a few more but its late 😅

He got Man City promoted twice, didn't he?
He did. Not exactly proof he could of taken us to the top. Look I liked him and I was hopeful he was going to be the man to take us forward but I thought he was tactically limited ultimately and he had some horror losses to lower league sides in both Cup competitions
