2024/25 David Moyes

You really think we're stable at the moment? We need 15 players contracts sorting through either renewing, getting rid or buying replacements. In my eyes we are anything but stable until the squad is sorted for next season, the big question is do you trust moyes to carry that out or do we employ someone else to do it. Sometimes even if you don't like the answer you just have to accept it that TFG are more likely to see Moyes as a safe pair of hands.
Surely it is the best time to actually embrace whatever the plan is for the squad going forward then?

Why would you want Moyes to fill the squad with players to play defensive football and then hand over to an attacking manager who won’t like the squad?

But I guess that’s the plan isn’t it? So that in 2 years people can turn around and say “we can’t possibly change manager now, the squad would t suit an attacking manager”.

Mediocrity forever!

I would argue that Moyes does not play defensive football.

His is definitely pragmatic but the goals we have scored since he came in say that it is not all defensive and likes his attacking players to attack. In his first stint there is a lot of evidence that he is not your typical defensive manager. There is also evidence at West Ham in using attacking players to their full advantage.

I trust Moyes to give us a stable footing to at least have the potential to kick on with the right succession. You look at what Martinez inherited, people dubbed him an attacking manager ( I don't agree) but that next season was very good and it was all due to the base that Moyes left.

Moyes final season had a better xG than Martinez first season. In fact, it had a better xG than any season since.

Moyes isn’t a defensive manager. He just never had the top level striker we needed but had all the other components.

I appreciate what Moyes has offered in relation to dyche but I feel like once Moyes recognized when we were safe he just decided to prepare for next season as that was his main objective

No. We were 2 nil up against bournemouth with three minutes left. Dyche subsitutions changed that result. He took off the two players that were keeping the bournemouth players busy. It was nothing like the ipswich game.
Very like the Ipswich game, and the United game, but all 3 of those games we got ourselves in a comfortable position and threw points away.

I didnt feel at the full time whistle against ipswich or united that i'd just been clubbed over the head and mugged.
Bournemouth was a collapse on a whole different level. One of the worst ive seen with Everton.

New players please.

Let go of young, Patterson, Coleman - save a few bob and get a right back.

Let go of Keane and get a better CB.

Let Lindstrom, Garrison go - or negotiate wages - get somebody decent on the right wing.

Broja can go, and get a striker.

Did Saturday not revive any memories of that Bournemouth game early in the season?

For me the Spurs games rather had Bmouth vibes, where we showed 70-75 mins of a good performances and got a goal out of a blue and then looked like some dominoes. We luckily won against them.

Ipswich, we had a bit of a dangerous control, but not really the drive and intensity in the tackles that we for example had at their ground early season.

3 of the players you have said are on loan.
