Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Be a lot of teams looking at a punt on Rudoni at Cov if they don’t get promoted. Bit of class about him. Vital in their win yesterday. My mate follows them home and away and insists he’s too good for the Championship. I tagged along one game and he stood out like when a first teamer coming back from injury plays with the 21’s.

9 goals and 13 assists this season and played 43 games, so is robust. Released by Palace as a kid and has got back to this level the hard way. Still only 23.
Yeah interesting one, good goal return, could be the classic Moyes box crashing midfielder.

8 players we need ......

We need a 20 goals a season striker for sure.

I'd get shut of DCL, Chermiti, Broja and keep Beto as a reserve option and add two more strikers. If that happens and we get a RB in who can get up and down the line that'd be progress.
I think we have to temper our expectations of what kind of output a striker could bring. We have been starved with poor forward play for years, but the inverse of expecting peak Lukaku is unrealistic. Haaland has 21 on the year, the likes of Watkins, Cunha, Palmer at or under 15. Any of those names on the market would go for our entire transfer budget. The truth and likelihood is we are shooting well below that in expected goals.

I think we can split the difference. If we can find an under 23 striker we can expect 10 on the year but has potential to surpass that in years to come I think we would be approaching the market pragmatically. I think there's plenty of options like that across europe who wouldn't break 30 million in a transfer.

Domestically if the likes of United or Chelsea change course I personally think it's worth a discussion on the likes of Hojlund or Jackson. As prospects they still have merit with wages not comparable to the inflated transfer fees they came in on. Of course there's doubts but if those two clubs choose a new priority they may be willing to halve their asking price to simply clear the decks. Or construct favorable loan agreements that push off immediate allocation of transfer funds. I see a possible opportunity.

If we are more worried with the here and now I would start in TFG's backyard. Artem Dovbyk is as assuring of a readymade producer one could find. If TFG are looking for immediacy with us, I'm not sure they will find a better immediate option.

United or Chelsea players will come here reluctantly and only as part of a sweetener to get Branthwaite, I suspect.

It'd be nice if we reached into the lower divisions to bring through a striker of note. I have no idea who that might be.

It's a strange thing for an oppo player to do though. Walk between oppo fans and go into someone's house to sign a wall. Could be something in it...
Apparently Ben Godfrey was with him so who knows if that played a part in it. I can definitely see Moyes wanting Delap as he likes his forwards to run the channels and work their nuts off which is Delaps game to a tee. Great user name you have by the way 😁👍

I would like to see an overhaul of our midfield. Apart from Gana, no one is good enough, and even Gana looked worryingly off his game.

Moyes developed Rice into an elite midfielder so am sure he’ll be looking for players he can similarly mould.

Get Armstrong back, and start moulding, Davey!

The way hes been playing for Derby he looks like the next Carrick (others have seen him more and given other comparisons) type player.

He can sit and recycle the ball effortlessly. He has bite in the tackle.
His positioning looks good.

This is what its all about, having these high potential young players (last being Branthwaite) come back from loan and us having a picture of what they may become.

Its going to be fun and interesting to see what he can become.

That's possible but I do think in both cases the team's could be wise to loan out their cut out strikers to keep value. Less a case with Jackson, if chelsea change their front man I think he's done enough to garner suitors for around what Chelsea paid for him. Hojlund on the other hand is lost in the woods at united. Amorim has not so subtly made clear he is out. How united handle that fact is interesting.

They clearly overpaid, would likely recognize they won't fetch nowhere near that back on the market. Clearly his prospect perception has taken a massive hit but the calamity that is United and the starkness of him being dropped is an interesting leverage position for anyone who could be interested.

Should you be interested if your another club is a worthy question. I wont say I've watched a lot of him this year but I do know a few things. A build up side is an awful structure for him. I think united have some of the worst cross suppliers in the division and frankly lazy mercurial talents who don't really know how to simplify goal scoring opportunities or reward channel running.

If Hojlund is going to work its in a system where he can run behind the defence from deep positions and be rewarded. I think he's a bit more grunt in approach, seeking back post finishes and supply from channel running. Im not sure he's physical enough, I think his head isn't great, he might just not be good enough broadly but I think its worth a discussion considering his prior pedigree and the basket case that is Manchester United.

I also think coaching is underrated when talking about him too. I think someone like Moyes could do wonders for him who praises grunt and grind players.

Let's hope. I think he'd be great for us...

Yeah cheers. Had it for years. Alas just a name though. If anything, my username should be dixatinylittlething! 😂 😂 😂
