Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Signing Jack Harrison on a permanent for a substantial fee would be utterly ridiculous/hilarious. Would signal to me that Moyes is here to simply prolong our banter era.
Leeds would probably be satisfied with a 3rd loan covering his wages, there wont be a queue out the door for him. As cover im not totally against him sticking around for 1 more year, because of the rest of the business we have to do

We're a team that struggles to score goals. DCL has been our first choice striker during the period where we have really struggled to score goals (although the problem pre-dates that period). There are other facets to his game but let's not give a six figure weekly salary to a part of our biggest problem. Let's all move on with no hard feelings.

Exactly but not just DCL, throw in Doucs, Harrison. Who else would you like to be given the boot ?

Yeah if it was purely as a squad player and we were only covering his wages again then it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world I guess.

I think they'll be keen to sell, given that he's basically refused to play for them for the past 2 years. They'll probably want £15 - £20 million, which is about £15 to £20 million too much!

Well if we do that then it’s official, the new era isn’t going to be a new era.

I think Moyes worries that if he replaces half the team, one pre-season is not enough to create a proper team. So we have spent 200 million on players and they look bad because there's no chemistry. Would the fans be happy with that?
I'd agree with this, several examples of a team full of new players not aligning, and that then gets into the fingernails were some fall off.

The best environment for a new player is into a team with a consistent core.

If we can have

Pickford
Tarkowski
Branthwaite
Mykolenko
Gueye
Garner
N'Diaye
Coleman or Young
DCL
McNeil
Iroegbunam
O'Brien
Doucoure (1 year)
Virginia
Chermitii

All part of our 'match day squad'.
Adding 4 or 5 players of better quality would be a lot easier to integrate, than replacing 3 or 4 of the names above and buying 8-9 players
That's without me adding Alcaraz or Armstrong who are the 2 newest players to the squad
