I was at the Burnley v United game that afternoon. Andy Lochead got 4 goals and Paddy Crerand got sent off for punching the smallest Burnley player on the pitch ( Ian Towers ).

That must be against Burnley. A young David Thomas ( No 7 ) ?

The lad third from the right is George Morton, he later moved to Rochdale were I saw him many times. A skilful inside forward.

Looks like the white paint is wearing off the “ Adidas “ boots. Was it “ Hummel “ that brought out his white boots ?

That Cup Final was the only time I’ve ever had a dream about a game the next day. I dreamt Everton won 4-0. So I put my tiny wedge on Everton. I had to stay in at night that weekend !
