I see your point, the only counter to that for me would be 1) we have better midfield / attacking options than last season (Grealish - injured in Feb and KDH, with an option albeit not very good with Barry) which offsets 2) we’ve lost JB for 90%...

What progress? We’ll likely finish in the exact same position as last season, the football is absolutely dreadful and we’ve not developed any of our young players whatsoever.
Said it earlier, West Ham get beat, all Spurs need is a point against Chelsea, they get that and the game against us there is no pressure on them. They then turn it on and give their fans something to shout about.
Only reason for sticking with Moyes now seems to be the fear of ending up like West Ham. That’s not a good enough reason. Need to be ambitious and brave and change it.
