Exactly. Jags was a player good enough for trophies in a side that was not quite good enough. If I remember correctly we were missing both him and Arteta for the Chelsea cup final and it gave us little chance.

He was outstanding. His highlights were: 1. Booking Garnacho for moaning about O'Brien bullying him! 2. Removing the match ball at the start, so that they were unable to have their huddle round it! His all-round decision-making was very good.

Yes it could have gone to other players, I thought James Garner was outstanding again but I couldn’t/ wouldn’t begrudge Beto getting the award and the acclimation of the crowd when he came off he’ll remember for a long time.
