be the same in the UK mate, at least now we have something to show for being skint. Wouldn't be like that there. The missus and I like the simple things, but I couldn't live in a box in a suburb. Having the big house and the land is worth being skint, since the alternative sounds ****e to us.

couldn't afford to have what we have here, mate. the house would cost about £350k in the UK, what with all the land its got (nearly 5 acres). Got a barn, an outhouse, a huge cellar. Plus we brought a pony over with us, and he couldn't make the journey back. He's too old (32 now)

kinda, mate. the wife earns enough to just about pay the bills and mortgage. but can't do anything else, nothing fancy. It's a simple life.

the house is ****ed, not had anything done to it since the 70s. needs a new roof and tonnes of other stuff doing. We ain't got the money, cal. When it's finished it'll be cool, but till then ...

Okay mate, thanks for asking. Still jobless and all that. I don't mind, I'm not person driven by success and I don't measure myself by what I get paid to do.
